The best Greek experience I have had on this trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great place to hang out, relax, and talk to people, including many locals. The staff is very much involved, exuding local flavor all around. The brother of the owner of the hotel has a small eatery next door that is still a work in progress, but the kitchen is fully functional and puts out delicious food. He makes the best frappé, great for an afternoon at a table on the beach across the street.This hotel is an older building with no elevator, but staff will take your heavy bags up and down the stairs. One should be prepared for the issues with such a building, including small space. However, despite any of that, the charm of this place definitely makes me look forward to returning. It is “chill central,” and I was just happy to be there.

Warm and welcoming check-in, great location, was perfect for my first visit to Aegina. Hotel is very close to a small beach and the archaeological museum, as well as to the center of town. Plenty of restaurants nearby, too. I had never been to Aegina before and wasn’t sure what to expect since it is the closest island to Athens / Piraeus. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the island and would definitely come back. Honestly had a better time here than on some of the more famous islands.

Family owned and run business with lovely sons Eric and Yannis and father Salvatore so welcoming and helpful. Also Manos on night shift keeping reception open until we're safely home. All their kindnesses were much appreciated. Had a wonderful time. Highly recommend Hotel Plaza!

An excellent evening near the Port. We just had one evening in town on our way to other islands and will definitely come back on our way back! Top notch! And highly recommended!

Perfect location
Hotel is located couple of minutes away from port and center of Aegina town which was really convenient. Beautifull seaview from the hotel too! Owner family was very helpfull and nice people. Bathroom was a bit small.

Very lovely family, father, and sons, running this hotel. They were very accommodating, and very friendly, and helpful too. Our stay was short, but if we ever return to the island, we will stay at the Plaza Hotel. Our room had a fabulous view of the waterfront.

We were greeted warmly by our host, Yiannis. His brother, Eric, was just as friendly. It was like coming home. Best hospitality. They provided tips on local activities. Rooms are impeccable. Nice balcony too. Their hotel is very conveniently located a 5-10 minute walk from the ferry. Just a few steps from the hotel, the azure waters of the Aegean and majestic mountains await with breathtaking views. Tranquility abounds. Crystal clear waters! Charming town with lovely boutiques, restaurants, churches, beaches, sailing, bike and car rentals. Make sure to visit Marathonas beach! The marina with its quaint fishing boats were amazing. This was by far our favorite island. ευχαριστώ Yiannis and Eric!

Super friendly & welcoming hotel!
Such a lovely family who run this place, so friendly and welcoming! Excellent location walking is two minutes from stepping off ferry at the port. And has a very nice view!

Το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται λιγα λεπτά με τα πόδια από το λιμάνι & αμέσως μπήκε στην καρδιά μου, καθώς η ευγένεια & η αληθινά εγκάρδια υποδοχή με έκαναν να αισθανώ πολύ όμορφα. Το δωμάτιο που έμεινα ήταν στον πρώτο όροφο & χρειάατηκε να ανέβω μερικά σκαλιά, μια & δεν υπάρχει ανελκυστήρας. Η καθαριότητα, που είναι & το μεγαλύτερο ζητούμενο για εμένα, ήταν υποδειγματική. Το στρώμα ήταν καλό, η διακόσμηση καλόγουστη & η θέα φανταστική. Τα προϊόντα προσωπικής περιποίησης είναι καλής ποιότητας. Η περιοχή είναι ασφαλής & πολύ κοντά στο σταθμό των λεωφορείων, σε πιάτσα ταξί, σε καφετέριες, εστιατόρια, περίπτερα & σε καταστήματα με τοπικά προϊόντα & αναμνηστικά είδη. Dear lady who prefers to write things in public before you talk to the hotel...We never have had breakfast...This is your mistake...For 35 years we never had breakfast...You have imagined things...In this hotel we do not have bad reviews...Only happy costumers...Our 98% of reviews are positive...Bad reviews happen ONLY for misunderstandings or bad communication with the hotel...In your case you cannot speak English and we do not speak Spanish...We tried to communicate with you but we had a language barrier...Please give evidence to the public that someone promised a breakfast...The details in Expedia.Com is detailed...offered breakfast in the neighborhhod from another business with extra charge...We do not accept that anything in our rooms is not cleaned...why is your fridge working today and not at your stay? Did you plug the fridge on power? Why didn't you tell us even in Spanish?? Why did you only smile to us and now we get this review? Everything is working in our hotel and we have received 7 awards of hospitality the last two years. We do not understand your review. Κεντρικότατο, εύκολη πρόσβαση σε λιμάνι,ΚΤΕΛ,πόλη. Ευγενικοί, εξυπηρετικοί ιδιοκτήτες. Γνωρίζοντας εκ των προτέρων το κόστος διαμονής (ώστε να προσαρμοστούν οι προσδοκίες ανάλογα), πρόκειται για μια τίμια και αξιοπρεπή επιλογή.

Budget hotel
Friendly, family-run hotel in good location. However, the bathroom was minuscule and difficult to maneuver in. Steep stairs are a real challenge for seniors. Comfortable beds.

Thank you so much for your review! If someone would like a bigger bathroom we always recommend our second building only 120m after Plaza, the Ulrika Hotel. Plaza is more central. Ulrika Hotel has also rooms with less stairs. Kind regards, Kalamakis family

+ Ευγενικοί οικοδεσπότες. Άνετο στρώμα! Ωραίο μικρό ξενοδοχείο σε πολύ κεντρικό σημείο. _ Ένα πρωί δεν είχε ζεστό νερό. Δεν υπήρχε κάποιο χειμωνιατικο πάπλωμα ή κουβέρτα ζεστή να σκεπάζουμε. Οτι μας έδωσαν ήταν παρά πολύ ψιλά και δεν αρκούσαν (διαμονή Μάρτιος).

Σας ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τη κριτική σας. Σας ευχόμαστε ότι καλύτερο σε εσάς και το σύζηγό σας. Ζεστό νερό υπάρχει πάντα για τους επισκέπτες μας, σας διαβεβαιώ. Αφού ήρθατε σε τριήμερο με τεράστια επισκεψιμότητα που μπορεί σπάνια να συμβεί το γεγονός να χρησιμοποιθεί όλο το καυτό νερό σας συνιστούμε να κάνετε υπομονή 10 λεπτά και θα επανέλθει. Το συμβάν συνέβη μόνο στο συζηγό σας, όχι σε εσάς όπως μας είπατε ή σε κάποιον άλλο στο κτίριο. Ο συνδιασμός των παπλωμάτων μας με το ειδικό κλιματισμό σε Heat Mode δεν αφήνουν κάποιον δυσαρεστημένο στο χώρο μας, απλά όπως μας εξηγήσατε δεν χρησιμοποιήσατε τον κλιματισμό. Καλή Σαρακοστή σας ευχόμαστε. Ελπίζουμε να σας άρεσε ο τοπικός μας οίνος που σας προσφέραμε. Καλή συνέχεια.

Das Standard-Zimmer für 45 (!) Euro in der Vorsaison hatte ein Mini-Bad und einen Ausbilck auf eine 3 m entfernte Hauswand. Das stand so nicht in der Beschreibung.

Thank you for your anonymous review. You went in Preseason BUT in one of the busiest holidays in Greece (carnaval and Clean Monday period) - you didn't mention that either. We are sorry that you were disapointed. The "standard room" doesn't have a seaview. The "double room with seaview" has. You accindentally booked a smoking room - we changed you to a non-smoking. You accindentally booked a double bed - we changed that to two single. Seaview was full and you did not book that. The Plaza Hotel has small bathrooms in general. If you want bigger bathrooms we recommend Ulrika Hotel - the second building of the owners. Both hotels are in Aegina town very close to the port and the center of the island.
