Nice hotel, friendly and very helpful staff. Hotel is very close to the beautiful Matsumoto Castle. Further walk to the station (about 15 minutes), and to restaurants, but overall I liked it.

Dormy Inn Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring
Hotel is clean, comfortable with convenient to access to public transport. The onsen was very nice... a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day. Staff was pleasant.

Toyoko Inn Matsumoto-eki Higashi-guchi
Good free japanese food buffet for breakfast! The hotel is literally right next to Matsumoto Station. Good restaurants in neighborhood, easy 10-12 minute walk to Matsumoto Castle. The reason not 5 stars is cuz room is super small even for Japanese rooms or maybe it was the layout that made if feel ...
