「We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!」

「Really fun place to stay. Gave us a nice taste of old Detroit. Owners have done a great job with the MoTown theme throughout the house, we used all of the juke boxes. Took a Uber to Tiger game and spent both evenings hanging at house. Used porches in morning and evenings. Location is very convenient for exploring Detroit. Highly recommend this place!」

「The Roost is a VERY cool update on a classic Detroit property. The rooms have character with a capital C, and aren't your standard hotel space. From the moment you enter the lobby, you realize this is something quite different. Once there, you're in the heart of Detroit, with easy walking to tons of restaurants and the downtown, including Woodward, concert venues, and Comerica Park. Excellent. We'll be back. 」

「Due the weather we did not use the hot tub or lake activities. The home is well maintained, clean and as advertised. The host was available to answer questions. Instructions tor arrival were clear. Two minor issues: The house number is not available from the street. It would be nice if the number is on the house by the street. There are four ceiling fan/light remotes. The batteries were dead or missing, so the controls wouldn't work. We replaced the batteries so we could control them.」

「My fiance and I came to Detroit in the summer because we are touring all of the baseball stadiums in the US. The stay was very spacious, communication was easy, and building/parking felt safe. Only issue was how hot the room was. Despite the (very old) AC that was in the unit, it was not enough to adequately cool the space - it was so hot it was hard to sleep.」

We were unable to go out because of 14 days of self-isolation, and we were forced to live a very inconvenient life. Homepage should be posted on homepage about restaurant closure. Also, cleaning was on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but sometimes the bathroom and room were not cleaned at all. We are not happy about cleanliness.」
