An historic property in the heart of the tourist area. Beautiful streets, buildings and pubs. Great breakfast options, 5 lb full English or continental delivery to room door. Lovely staff, nice room. And a pub right downstairs!

Loads of personality
Somewhat weird. Great central location, comfortable bed, nice clean, tho tiny, shower and with cute personality; but the broken fan in the wardrobe made it hard to hang stuff, the wand holder in the shower was also broken, the car parking advice on their website is wrong, and its pretty strange when the only way to check out early is via the fire escape. Quite the experience.

Superb
We absolutely loved everything about The Cardinals Hat. The staff were lovely and the room was superb, the bed was really comfortable too. We would absolutely recommend staying here.

A lovely stay in the oldest pub in Worcester. Room was small but comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Csrdinal's hat...we will be back!
A very friendly and helpful welcome from Ted who helped with our bags and apologised for the kitchen being closed for the evening due to staff illness but we were able to order into the bar. Our en-suite room was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for an overnight stay. We sampled the excellent local beer and the continental breakfast hamper was both charming and beautifully presented with quality produce. Beautifully situated in the old streets of worcester and convenient for eateries, cathedral and main sopping area-all within easy walkiing distance. Thank you for making our first overnight in Worcester so relaxing.

Dog friendly hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Delicious cooked breakfast for additional £5 per head. NCP car park entrance is not opposite Cardinal Hat and discount code does not work, however plenty of cheaper options nearby.

Hotel was nice with old style pub atmosphere downstairs, but not as advertised on Hotel.com, as extra for breakfast (which wasent that great or big) as well as no discount applied for the carpark that was indicated as included!!

This review is so 50/50. The pub is beautiful, old and in my opinion one of the nicest places in Worcester (old town). The staff were friendly, chatty and went out of there way to help. The room was directly above the garden tent, Friday night was not the time to book if you want sleep! This appears to be Worcesters local hot spot and was loud to say the least. However the locals were there before I was so that’s my problem for the date I picked. The pub tries to be all fancy, biscuits, hot chocolate, water but sadly the state of the room let it down big time. The dirt on the carpet was nothing more than vile. The curtains all hanging of the rails and the longest dog hairs you have ever seen on the bed! (It’s also a little damp and the wallpaper is pulling away, but in fairness it’s an very old building) if house keeping stepped up it would be a beautiful place to stay. As I said, staff were lovely, breakfast was nice, but money needs spending to refresh the rooms. Would I go back?? Possibly!! Different room, midweek, but only if housekeeping clean that carpet

Who wouldn’t like to stay in Worcesters’ oldest and best pub. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Clean, warm rooms full of character.

We booked this very last minute as we had such a great day in Worcester. We arrived and were greeted by a really helpful guy who showed us the room, which was really nice.

Stayed for one hot night, but the windows opened and there was a fan provided. Bed very comfortable unfortunately kept getting woken up by someone constantly walking around above us until 3.30 am. Otherwise, can't complain.

Lets start with the good/very good; Great location, nice historic street, friendly staff, nice comfy bed and room, loved the hamper breakfast, good facilities, big modern bath in the room is an extra nice touch. Some traveller notes; Room - Elgar. There was a really bad waste/smell issue in the bathroom (check this has been resolved). The discounted car park ticket provided expires - check when as we went to the cathedral after check-out and so the NCP opposite was £17 for all day parking. Yes, you do use the fire escape to enter/exit during 23:00 and 10:00 ish as it’s a pub that obviously closes but that’s not an issue and straight-forward. We must have got really unlucky with the Jubilee preparations - woken up at 05:30 and stayed awake due to lorries going down the small street - bottle/waste collections but mainly a roadsweeper that went past at least EIGHT times over a 2 hour period (cleanest street in town), therefore very noisy. Real shame and must be a one-off as not mentioned in other reviews.

Cramped noisy room, not for sleeping in.
Nice people representing a cramped noisy (compressor working all night outside the window not conducive to good nights sleep (the purpose of the stay!) The Continental breakfast in picnic basket a nice idea but in cramped room and no surfaces to use, made for disappointing / frustrating experience.
