The room was old, smelled musty, and the refrigerator broke down twice. I had no access to a refrigerator. The bathroom had mildew, cracked tiles, and grout, the room, and furniture looked like it was at least 40 years old. The air conditioner was on its last legs, old, super loud. The jetted tub must not have been used in a while as when I turned it on black spores came out into the water and the water smelled like a wet dog. The tv was small and they placed a huge cabinet in the middle of the room creating a less-than-impressive layout. No working desk as this was a business trip for me. What a waste of money and it was supposed to be a Luxury Queen room, it was far from luxury. I checked out a day early and spent my last night at a very nice hotel. The

The age of the building shows. Could do with a remodel and I feel the price doesn’t reflect well. Could stay at the best western for the same price and have much nicer room and amenities

The Bedford Regency is a boutique hotel, please take that into account when reading this. Overall I rate our experience as excellent. That is due to location location location, especially for the price. Please consider this as things that may matter to you to be aware of, not nitpicking: 1. Location - we felt like we were in the center of it all and loved it. Chinatown is just a few short blocks away, as is the Empress & Parliment Bldg. A multitude of restaurants and coffee shops are walking distance. We did a ton of walking and it was all pleasant, day and night. 1b. Gov't Street - during our trip they closed it to vehicles from noon to 10 pm, so virtually everyone who was out to see the city on foot came through. Very busy, but we had our own space close by so we enjoyed it thoroughly. One night 3 cruise ships docked and about 10,000 people showed up for a few hours. If we had come to see Gov't St. from an outlying hotel, it would have been tough to enjoy that, but staying here made it a delightful experience. 2. Room size - an older building, smaller rooms than you might be used to. Everything feels "closer together" than in a new hotel. 3. Beds - no issues. 4. Bathroom - no exhaust fan. This caused some consternation in the family... 5. "Courtyard view" - pure marketing, there is no courtyard. Get out of the room and see the actual sights! 6. Parking - it is $18, and 2 blocks away. On weekends you get the card from front desk, then park, then return the card.

Very, very outdated hotel. Would not come back. No A/C, only a broken window shaker unit that the pull down shade covered completely regardless. No on sight parking, only option is a public parking garage that is closed on the weekends…… Rooms that face out to the street have to deal with all the street noise from all the buskers due to the street being closed down to automobiles out front of the hotel, making check in very inconvenient.

Liked that it was in great area to walk in all of downtown. The bathroom was extremely small. Has no sink or mirror. Have to use on in the kitchenette. It is extremely loud until 2am so be prepared for that.

My stay at the Bedford Regency was good in that it was very centrally located and convenient to most in-town things. The parking experience however was very frustrating as that the dedicated garage was about two blocks away and had limited access during weekends and evenings. If you need access to your car, I would not recommend this hotel. If you intend on walking (for which this is very centrally located), I would recommend this hotel.

The front desk staff could use a bit more friendliness. They helped when it was requested and did their due diligence but were a bit stiff and unsmiling. The cleaning staff however is outstanding and worked hard and were so professional, doing impeccable work. The front desk staff could learn a thing or two from them. The room was super clean with good coffee. This historic building was nice and well located although the city facing room does get a fair bit of noise from outside bars and multiple songs and music intermixing. I should’ve taken the inside courtyard facing room windows. That however is due to the central location (also really nicely located and walkable to anywhere). It’s downtown so noise is to be expected. The hotel is good for what it is as long as you book in advance and don’t overpay for the room. I would recommend, you get what you pay for: good for what it is.
