"We had a great time at the beach. It was beautiful and I would go back to the area just for that. Generally Cuba is beautiful and the people were very friendly. In Veradero itself we did run into a scammy horse cart driver who told us 10 cuc for a 3 km ride to a market and then tried to charge 10 each for 5 of us. We settled on 30 but it was not a nice situation. The resort staff were wonderful and the food was ok. The people work with what they have and are incredible! The entertainment...

"I'm one to stay in basic hostels in shady corners of the world and this is the worst hotel rooms I've stayed in. It's dilapidated, smells of damp and musk and on arrival there were many live and dead mosquitoes over the room and bathroom. The shower only worked on a high speed massage function...Good things about the room are that it has a balcony, fridge and it's a good size. Also it was cleaned everyday that I was there.
