Great house
We stayed for 2 nights, the house very well appointed. Josie's style makes for a very welcoming and comfortable house. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Lovely stay in Laura.

Artful decor and welcoming ambience
We went for our anniversary and my husband's 65th. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate with the fam. We loved Umtala house and how it's been transformed by the current owners with artworks and decor. Mabel the 4 year old loved the cubby house and we played games in the backyard. It really felt like being in a home for the weekend rather than a generic holiday house. The styling is second to none but the bathroom was voted favourite room! The adult kids took over the cooking and served up slow cooked lamb ragu in the cost kitchen. Highly recommend *****

Perfect winter stay
Gorgeous home, super-comfortable, warm and cosy against the winter chill. Equipped with everything we could need in the kitchen, games to play in the sitting room, and a pretty garden, this house was the perfect base for our family stay in Leura.

Great Family Venue
This accommodation is superb! We had the best family, (grand parents, daughters and spouses, and three young grandchildren), weekend ever! It is beautifully set out and really well equipped. It was spotlessly clean. All the bathroom toiletries were of the highest standard, the beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen would please the most discerning chef. We'll be back for sure

A 75th birthday celebration
The property was ideal for our 3 generations of 6 adults and 3 children.The location was perfect -a walk to Everglades Gardens and Leura Mall and short drive to Scenic Railway. The house provided for all our needs-warmth including an open fire, a kitchen well equipped for cooking up a storm, a sunny balcony and a playhouse for the kids, great beds and bathrooms.

Relaxing in style with friends
Stunning property (as pictured) with plenty of space and all the comforts of home (but much more stylish). We (four mums) spent the weekend hiking (Wentworth Pass and Ruined Castle) and exploring the beautiful shops and restaurants of Leura. We had a wonderful time thanks to the generosity of our host, Josie, who also went above and beyond to help with the changing travel restrictions of Covid-19. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Umtala House. It was beautifully appointed with plenty of space to relax. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could need and the garden was a delight! Great location in close proximity to the local shops and restaurants. Perfect for a birthday weekend away
We spent our first weekend out of lockdown, celebrating my 50th birthday with 3 other couples. Umtala House is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. A wonderful home cooked meal on Friday with some post dinner drinks next to the roaring fire. A bushwalk on Saturday, and an easy walk to Leura for dinner in the evening. Michael

Very relaxing stay in the beautiful house
We stayed in the Umtala House as a group of 7 friends and were very happy that we found and chose this beautiful house. It is so tastefully decorated with the nice pieces of art and unique furniture, meticulously clean, provides very comfortable beds with nice bed linen and offers several cosy seating areas. The kitchen is well equipped with all essential appliances and a nice dinnerware. The house is also conveniently located, close to the centre of Leura and to the lookouts. We just absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful house!

Set in beautiful Leura , this property is outstanding. We stayed with 4 adults and 2 children. 2 adults were grandparents and had a beautifully appointed private bedroom upstairs and a quiet sitting room downstairs. Josie is an interior designer- and it shows. Every space is beautifully appointed with high spec fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings. Wonderfully comfortable beds, toys for the kids , georgous gardens, We felt very spoilt and privileged to stay there. We travel frequently and this home would be one of the best ever. Highly recommended.

Lovely comfortable property
Our family group had a great time in Leura. The indoor/outdoor flow to the back garden was perfect for the 4 year old as was the sweet “cafe” cubby house. Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was very well supplied with cookware/sharp knives, etc and plenty of bin liners etc. Would love to stay here again!

Loved this house & the location. From the moment we pulled into the drive were captivated by the atmosphere of this place. This only increased as we walked through the door into the beautifully decorated rooms. Every detail has been considered from the linen bedding to the luxury hand wash. Will definitely be back 😊

Overall our stay was very nice, the only complaint I have is that the beds looked like they had been slept in, the sheets were very crumpled and not ironed.

Many thanks for your review. I can assure you the beds were changed for your stay and are changed for every stay with clean linen. As you can probably understand, it is really hard and time consuming to iron large sheets on a domestic ironing board (and there is no commercial ironing place in the Blue Mountains nearby) and I ask the cleaner to spend time focusing on the cleanliness of the house rather than ironing sheets. Had you reached out during your stay I would have been more than happy to clarify this for you.

Mountain bliss
What a gorgeous property! Great location and whisper quiet. No need to go anywhere if you choose. Just stay in by the cosy fire or cook in the beautiful kitchen. We had a very restful time at this beautiful house.

The house is stunning - beautifully appointed and well cared for. It was a wonderful place for the family christmas and Josie was a brilliant host. The only small criticism was that the property is not as close to the mall as the description suggested. That said, we would certainly rent this property again and can't recommend it highly enough

Words can’t describe - but we will try!
Just returned from a 3 night stay in this gorgeous home in Leura and we were all so sad to be leaving. The owners have really gone out of their way to make this feel like a home away from home - and a luxurious one at that. It’s a beautifully renovated federation cottage in a quiet street. The furnishings, artwork, kitchen, bathrooms, bed linens (the list could go on) were all worthy of a 5 star resort. The home was immaculately clean and smelled brand new. Unwinding in the lounge room after a day of exploring with a warm fire burning, whilst watching a Netflix movie with the kids was such a lovely way to finish the day. Thanks for creating such a wonderful home for us to enjoy Josie. We hope to return soon!

Fell in love with this beautiful cottage - exquisite interiors!
Really gorgeous house - very comfortable high quality amenities and immaculately clean. The standard of interiors was the most lovely out of any property we have ever stayed at with lots of thoughtful touches. Loved the garden and Leura is one of our favourite parts of the world, particularly with all of the autumn foliage. We hope to come back one day in Spring and would highly recommend.
