About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Earl's Cabin. Quiet 1930s hand hewn log cabin. Fishing hunting opportunities.

Quiet location on a 2-acre homesite, Earl's Cabin is a hand hewn log cabin built in the 1930s and named after its former resident, a local musician. It is warm and welcoming and has everything you'll need.

Old school? Try the old log outhouse. More future minded? It's a compost toilet for you.

Set near the base of the Ruby Mountains (less than one mile from the world famous Ruby Springs Lodge), the skies and mountain ranges will remind you why there is no beauty like mother nature.

There is a 2-burner stove and microwave, but more importantly a grill off the deck! It won't be hard to decide what's for dinner as you can catch large trout in the waterways bordering the property. A 2-minute drive will bring you to the Ruby River, a few more to the Madison, Big Hole, and so on.

Just ten miles from Virginia City, you can catch a show, belly up to the famous Pioneer Bar, or go on a ghost tour. It's a fun little Western town that will take you back in time.

Be careful driving back, we have a lot of deer in this part of the country. You'll likely see them walking through the yard. Along with the fox who lives across the road with her family. That 'hoot' you'll hear at dark are the owls talking and the blanket of stars are something you'll never forget. We call it Big Sky Country for a reason. A cozy place to crash, romantic getaway or a solitary escape, (great writer's cabin!), you'll like it here so much you won't want to leave. We didn't.

Clean and certainly doable
Hosts were great and trying hard. The place is clean and certainly doable but maybe a tad tight and lacking in amenities for anything other than a short stay.

Quaint
Lovely spot. Went to show my east coast mom the stars but we had thunderstorms that night. Spent most of the night inside the cabin and it was tiny but cozy. Mom slept downstairs and heard nothing all night and I slept upstairs and heard the thunder and coyotes. I’m sure if the night was clear the stars would have been amazing!!!
