Pousada Solar Dos Deuses
3.5 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (26)
"Beautiful rooms and lovely staff with plenty of space. I would not recommend for families and the Pelourinho área can be unsafe in areas despite the amount of police officers patrolling the area. In our experience they are there to be shown and not to act. Nevertheless if you come during carnival this would be a prime spot."

"We had a *wonderful* stay here. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful - they even upgraded our room for the last few nights of our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The pousada is nicely decorated and located in a nice, quiet area of the city. Lastly and most importantly, breakfast! Every day was something different but always tasty and fresh. Breakfast was the best part of our day and a great opportunity to try more of the local cuisine. We highly recommend Casa da Vitoria!"

A Casa Das Portas Velhas Hotel
3.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (86)
"The staff was great, the rooms are very small, extremely well located. However, BEWARE breakfast is not included and we were surprised with a bill we were not warned. The staff never ever said anything at check-in and their promo makes reference to all services included. It was not about the cost because breakfast was great and the cook really friendly and caring this was about surprising us with hidden charges."

8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (265)
"The hotel is great given how historic it is. The location was good although a little bit of a walk from the centre. The reception and security staff are very nice and respectful but I was absolutely put off by the restaurant staff. The man at the restaurant is very rude. On the first morning we got to the restaurant right when they about to close breakfast. Other people were also taking food but the moment I tried to take anything, that guy picked up the ladles and would remove anything that I...

"Had a good stay here for 3 nights. The room was big, as was the bed- and comfortable. I read one review complaining about the noise, but it wasn’t excessive to us- our room was facing away from the main street. "
