This was an interestng stay, and a first for me. First things first. The room I stayed in has no in room bathroom. You share with the rest of the rooms on the floor. I did not realize it when I booked, and was taken by surprise. After the initial surprise wore off I found it was not a huge deal, but it is important to note.
Besides that one hiccup everything else is awesome. The room had a great decor as did the rest of the property. It didn't feel generically well decorated, but like real personality went in to it, which is a nice change. Everything was clean, and there was very little noise carryover you might expect from an older building like this. The restaurant was good, and the location is pretty choice. Who doesn't appreciate a five minute walk to Powells world of books?
I grew up in Portland and I have felt a hole in my heart every time I visit the city the past few years but for my stay I felt I got a little bit of that late 90's early 2000'1 Portland back in a quirky fun atmosphere in the middle of a Northwest blanket. It was nice.
