Dear Madame: We are sorry to read that your stay was not at the level of your expectations. At Hotel Villa Antilla we welcome all our guests reviews and constantly seek to improve the client experience. We have already taken the time to respond to all of the points you raised in your several emails, that we received. The following response resumes in part the email that we addressed you. Orio is a picturesque seaside Basque city rooted in tradition offering fine culinary experiences, surfing, rowing, wind sports, the Santiago de Compostelle route and a 12 minute car-ride to the amazing and vibrant city of San Sebastian. Balenciaga, Arzak, Chillida, are all names straight out of our region. One hour from Bilbao and 30 km from the South-West French border, our location is quite ideal. We have 50 rooms of different sizes and if you would like to return to visit us, you could choose to stay in a larger one or even the suite duplex which has an ample 35m2 terrace overlooking the sea. The alarm that went off due to a wee bit of smoke in the kitchen was short-lived. There was no formal issue of information due to the lack of gravity of the situation - the kitchen staff immediately remedied the issues. We are in accordance with all formal safety protocol and if there was the necessity, depending upon the type of alarm, our guests would have been effectively informed and evacuated. It is very important to remind readers of this review that we re-opened and renovated a former Hotel establishment. We passed all new very strict inspections and regulations prior to opening in June 2017. Our indoor parking lot is 15 euros a day with an elevator that guests may use to charge their luggage. The elevator goes directly up to every floor of the hotel.
