Booked as convenient for visiting family. Very nice staff and room was spotless. I have dust and other allergies so I often have problems with older properties which are usually carpeted and can be dusty - but not here.
It was a sudden hot spell so we appreciated having a fan available in the room.
The hotel was lovely and it's in nice countryside.
The only negative is with the area not the hotel itself.
This part of Cheshire is very car-centric with poor public transport and not pedestrian friendly - narrow or no footpaths, which made going for a jog around the area less enjoyable.

Pleasant stay, beautiful setting, breakfast was fairly basic. Room and furnishings were lovely as was the bath. Room drinks poor. Dusty and dirty between floorboards. Sink basin overflow was really dirty.

Very disappointing
Booked for 1 night away after hectic schedules checked in then went out to eat. When we returned the room was freezing, no telephone in the room so had to ring reception from my mobile who responded with he’d turn the boiler on. Went to get in the shower only to find there was no hot water at all in the bathroom had to get dressed and go down to reception. There’s no real reception just security who said he could provide a portable heater not sure how this was gonna resolve the water issue. He then suggested the water might be ok in the morning, that doesn’t help when you need to shower. In the end I checked out in the early hours after freezing and returned home. Nunsmere and hotels.com have been less than helpful and are refusing a refund. If I book a hotel I expect the very basics of warmth and hot water. Really disappointing stay, I work in hospitality and both companies need to brush up on their customer service skills
