Lovely property with separate private lakefront to Silver Lake + huge backyard.

We fell in love with this lovely Pure Michigan property with separate private access to Silver Lakes. It is our happy place. This summer home gives out a vibe of a chill and homey Michigan cottage. The house boasts of a large 1700 sq ft of living space and only 2 houses away from the lakefront. There is a large deck that we enjoy our meals "al fresca". There are string lights and candles that makes dinner and wine just so perfect. There is a front yard sitting area, as well as (2) separate fire pit for a large group to enjoy. One in the backyard and one by the lakefront to enjoy the sunset. There is no rental in the area that can offer the best of both world to have private access to Silver Lakes and for a group to enjoy a huge northern woods backyard. In the backyard, there is enough room to set-up nets for Volleyball, badminton, and pickleball. There is a living room and a family room if you need to have a separate play area for the kids. The dining table can accommodate 8. One of my other favorite feature of the house is the outdoor shower with hot water. Nothing like watching the dense stars above when you are showering. Our property includes a separate lakefront that has a large gazebo, fire pit, seating area and dock where you can swim in Silver Lake, launch kayak , paddleboard or other water equipment. This is a short 2 minute walk and is only for your private use. The Silver Lake State Park is a short 10 minute walk. This is an option for a beach and playground. The Little Sable Point Lighthouse is a short drive for a tour of the lighthouse or a day at the Lake Michigan beach. We have four (4) Bedrooms with queen bed per bedroom. It is advertised as sleeps 10 using a queen air mattress in the family room. Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need.

Nice size for our family of 7, close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Large outdoor spaces with plenty of seating. We cooked at the house all 3 nights of our stay, only disappointment was the gas tanks for the grill and fire table were empty after our 1st night.

We loved our stay at Steve and Maria’s - it was perfect for enjoying the holiday weekend with our family. Their outdoor space was especially nice - lots of options for seating, having a fire, grilling, or swinging in the hammock - and the lake is at the end of the street!

We enjoyed the property and especially the location. There are multiple steps up and down at various door thresholds that make it a little tough for the very young or old. Some details needed to be tended to, and we brought these attention to the owner.

The yard was spacious and we enjoyed the fire pit, plenty of privacy! Plenty of parking (even for the boat trailer). Just a short walk or drive to the lake. We would definitely stay again! Plenty of room for everyone in the house and the kitchen was well stocked.

This was our first time renting a home in Silver Lake to visit the dunes ORV park. The house is very close to all of the action at Silver Lake. House is very well decorated, has a great backyard and comfortably fit all of us.

The home was amazing! It is in the perfect location with lots of space. The home is tastefully decorated and we felt right at home. Your a 2 min walk from the beach where you have private access and a dock. When you want to get away from the lake there is a huge back yard and outdoor seating area. It is the perfect mix of the lake/woods life. The hosts were great to work with and the gentleman who manages the property was amazing as well. 5 star stay for sure!

Our family really enjoyed the house…it felt like home and was EXTREMELY clean!! The sheets and blankets smelled fresh and it smelled really clean when we walked in for the first time. There was plenty of space and the outside had a huge backyard with a really nice fire pit and a patio with a gas fire grill. It’s about five houses down from Silver Lake and is centrally located making it super convenient to get to town and the dunes! Thank you!! We’re definitely coming back next summer!!

I put caution tape on the floors, didn't want anyone tripping although most of us did, no one was hurt, would have been nice if there was a latter on the dock. we arrived after there was a bad storm, house was ok no damage, however the cushions were left out when we got there and took two days to dry out. the house was cute and we did enjoy ourselves, We made the best of it.

The yard and accompanying toys and swing were great during the day for our toddler, and the adults appreciated the fire pits and grill during the day. Interior was well decorated and inviting, though admittedly with four adults and two infants was already feeling a tiny bit cramped. That said, it got the job done and everyone slept well. Kitchen well stocked and appreciated. There's a couple steps between rooms to be cautious about, especially with kids. A pleasant summer stay.

House was wonderful! Lots of single steps between rooms which was very tricky. Outdoor shower great! Backyard area beautiful. The only disappointment was based on the info given we thought it was across from the lake. We knew we had to cross a street but we thought it was a lake view. It’s perpendicular to the lake so you have to step out to the street to see the lake and walk a short distance to get to the lake. Really close to the state park beach.

Decided last minute to spend 3 days with family. Have traveled to Michigan for 30 years but have never visited the Silver Lake area. The area and the house were both hidden gems for our family. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to relax or have fun including private lakefront access a few hundred feet away from the front door. Nice kitchen with spacious counter, huge firepit, outdoor hot water shower, huge yard, and another firepit at the lake for watching beautiful sunsets. The Host Maria and the property manager Robert were both very friendly and made our check-in and checkout and our entire stay perfect.

We loved our stay at Maria and Steve’s! I’ve been going to Silver Lake every summer since I was a kid and my parents have a place nearby. We wanted to share the area we love so much with more family, so we rented this lovely home for a few nights and had the greatest time! The home is spacious, perfectly designed, and they provide so many amenities. The house was thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival, which is always reassuring! The kitchen is wonderful, the bedrooms are adorable, and the yard is just spectacular. The outdoor shower and swings were a huge hit! From ages 2-40, everyone had a blast. We made some incredible memories that we will cherish for many years and are so appreciative that Maria and Steve shared their home with us!

Clean, clean, clean. You can tell this is an older home that has been updated (very nicely too boot), but sometimes they are just hard to make look clean. Not true here, the house was spotless, full of character, with multiple congregation options. My sister who can be a hard sell even commented on how nice it was. If you knew her, you'd know that was a high compliment. Kitchen was stocked well enough with utensils, we were able to make whatever we wanted. Only shortfall was no steak knives, but we made due with the other styles available. You could eat inside at the dining table, outside at one of a few picnic tables, gather around outside at the gas fire place on whicker furniture, or around the large camp fire pit, or take a little stroll down the street to their lake spot. Maria was on the spot with replying to any questions, mere minutes for any response. Best house we've rented, again, loved the character and the size of the yard. This is definitely NOT a box with a roof.

We arrived a little early so headed to the dunes prior to check in. We couldn't have been more excited about the outdoor shower... We used it before even unlocking the door to get the sand off all the kids. Smart thing to provide! House was very clean... Honestly for as much sand that is around silver lake we didn't find any upon entering the home. Pretty amazing The house and yard fit our lifestyle. Quiet and room for young kids to roam While the water access wasn't right at your door it worked for us. We walked the few hundred feet to the water and fished (didn't catch anything but to be honest I didn't think my 7 year old would) and used the provided paddle boards and kayak a couple times on calm days. Sandy bottom and shallow. Nice perk. If we wanted water we drove to little sable point or parked at the state park and walked to silver lake and ran down the dunes into the lake. We brought our bikes and road into town for ice cream and Craig's cruisers most days. Not a bad ride. House worked well for us but we are outdoor people so really didn't spend much time inside. Kids were asking if we could come back before we got out of the driveway.

We enjoyed staying here in June 2020, as soon as the Silver Lake ORV area re-opened. The home has a large, private backyard with a fire pit, tables and chairs. It's ideal for family time - there's even a little creek running through the yard at the back border. The dock is one block (3 houses) down the street, adjacent to the public boat ramp, so you could bring your own water craft or jet skis if you wished. Everything inside the home was clean, neat and thoughtfully arranged - the beds were comfortable, the kitchen set-up was great for cooking, and there are 2 living areas for family activities. There were even interesting books and games for us. Two full baths indoors, plus an outdoor shower. We were looking for a quiet residential neighborhood, and this was just right for us. 2 minute walk to the water, 6 minute drive south to the lighthouse, 4 minute drive to the boat rental place and buggy rental place, 6 minute drive north to the pedestrian dune access. There were so many activities available in and near Silver Lake, we didn't even have time for everything. Also, to be clear, this vacation home is not a modern luxury condo or new construction - it a large pre-1960s cabin that has been lovingly maintained, updated and renovated with modern appliances and decor. Many rooms are one step up or down, so this is not wheelchair accessible. It feels like an 'Up North' cabin, but it has all the conveniences of home. It's everything you could wish for on a 'Pure Michigan' vacation!
