There are two Motel Ones in this area; you can see one from the other. This is the one designated "Augustplatz", on Ritterstrasse, a wonderful modern trendy hotel in the heart of old Leipzig just across the street from Nikolaikirche and a very short distance from St. Thomaskirche, the Markt, Mendelssohn Haus, the Gewandaus, the main train station---you name it. It was perfect for us. The room is a decent size, not large, but with more than enough space for two people. You put your room card in a slot by the door to make the electricity function and when you do so, the TV comes on with an aquarium and background sounds. Not our taste, but cute. The bathroom is ultra-modern, from a girl's point of view, she says "shear comfort, and every girl will know what I'm talking about," only a shower, but hi-tech faucets and lots of water. Quite a few electrical outlets in the room too, if, like us, you have lots of things to
charge. Service is excellent. We got a map at check-in. Wish that was more commen. The Wi-Fi connection was quick and strong. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel. There's a fabulous place called "back WERK", part of a chain, across the street that serves lots of breakfast and lunch stuff, and great coffee, at low prices. We used it several times.
