We had a pleasant stay, upon arrival they upgraded our room, away from the noise along the stretch of road under construction. This property is very near to a park with a lake with many people taking a stroll and doing various exercises. City centre area is within 10-15 mins walk.

Central location in Kunming, a few minutes walk to Cuihu Park. Nice clean room, comfortable bed. Great gym at top with 360 view of the city.

I stayed at Park Hotel at Singapore before, and after stayed in Grand Park Hotel Kunming, I can tell they have a quite good standard across region for their hotel. You can expect the room to have a good functions/furniture/amenities. We got a free upgrade which has a good view, we appreciate that, thank you.

Do not stay at this hotel. Very hot at night.
In the center of the city by a city park with a beautiful. Lake. The only thing we did not like was that the hotel turned the AC off at night to save electricity. The room became very hot. Complainted to the front desk and they did nothing. This is not 5 star hotel standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful hotel to stay
I have stayed in the hotel many times and I enjoy the facility, service and meals. It is in a very convenient location to go to the beautiful Green Lake and local shops. Highly recommend to other to stay.

The best part is the location. Close to Green Park and many good eateries. But the air con in our room barely worked.

Terrible staffs
The front Desk staff refused to check me in upon arriving almost at Midnight. Reason being office was closed can't retrieve fax confirmation. She wanted me to pay walk in rate which was twice as much as the online booking or call hotel.com to email her the booking. The confirmation number for the booking was not valid according to her. When i started to get really work up, she then decided to call someone else to open the office to get the fax. I wonder how this Chinese culture can promote tourism although I'm Chinese myself but not from China.

one day stay before coming home
The room was clean and had an excellent view, with the sunrise when looking out toward one side, and sunrise when looking out later toward another site. The breakfast was of high class with a good service, a sharp contrast from the 4 ten days of conference food and 4 days of tourist food. A good location too, a short walking distance to the city center and lots of little stores.

The hotel had not turned on the air-conditioning yet so the room was very uncomfortable with no ventilation. Also, there was an obnoxious odor in the bathroom.

Excellent location in Central Kunming
I booked 2 double rooms through Expedia (for 4 people) but the deal was only for 2 breakfasts, which is a bit strange. The front desk staff's English was a bit hesitant, which should not be in a 5-star hotel in a big city. The price of drinks at the 21st floor bar is comparable to London's high-society bars.

the front desk took forever to check out and they always ask the staff to check the room before they finish the formalities, meanwhile the room is lack of heater sometimes in winter Kunming could get really cold

Nice hotel close to the lake
The hotel is in a great location (close to the lake, nice to walk around in the evening). The swimming pool was unfortunately in renovation (for half a year!). Staff is friendly, hotel is comfortable (as you expect in this price range).

Very good hotel in excellent location.
This hotel is an excellent value and is situated within a half block of Green Lake. The area has many excellent restaurants and clubs within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel is close to Green Lake Park and Yunnan University. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and bars, too. The hotel was modern and fairly clean compared to other hotels I have stayed at in China. Most of the front desk staff spoke reasonable english and were polite when I tried to speak Mandarin.

Decaying hotel
Hotel is in very poor condition. It should not be 5 star. Poor quality service (very slow check in) and rooms in urgent need of renovation. Great location though and with a lick of paint it could be a great hotel.....

I live this hotel and have stayed there many times. Bt this time I got initially to a non desirable room (I paid for lake view) and had to wait around while they sorted it pot, Pugh all very friendly; but more serious was the lack of wifi in my room and their non functioning routers for my room.

Decent Hotel near Green Lake
Decent Hotel near Green Lake. 1/2 the $ of Green Lake Hotel but staff is only adequate at best. We had reserved an extra bed and we battled with them for an hour to get it since hotel was full. There was major flooding in Kunming when we were there in mid-July. The hotel did order us a 5 am cab the next morning to get to airport. There are no decent hotels we could find near the new airport which is 30 miles east of the city center so you have to get a bus or cab to downtown. The area of Green Lake is a very nice part of Kunming. When you compare this hotel to say the Ocura in Shanghai for $40 more per night for the Ocura there is no contest. The Grand Park survives because it's decent, clean, and big but seems to have no real competition in the price range of $120 to $160 per night.

It is not a 5 Star hotel maybe 3.5 to 4 Stars It is a bit tired. Aircon was too hot at 24~25deg - would not cool down any further. Non-smoking rooms hard to come by.

The rooms were nice and large with all of the expected comforts. There was in room Internet, but wifi was only available from the lobby. The pool was drained, but it was probably too cold of weather anyway.

The rooms are reasonable in size and in terms of facilities. The service and the staff are both quite good. One thing we wish we have known was that the wait for a taxi at the airport is very long because there are not enough taxi cabs. We end up having to call the hotel to send a taxi to pick us up. The cost is high (RMB$250) but worth it if you arrange with the hotel before hand so that the driver will meet you at arrival . Otherwise be prepared to wait for 2 hours or more!

Nice hotel. Good location, convenient both to business districts and the very attractive Green Lake Park area. Staff was helpful and courteous. Facilities were quite nice--both common areas and guest rooms.
