Don't book here if you have tattoos and want to use the bath.
The hotel needs to advise on the listing that people with tattoos are not allowed to use the bath. I specifically booked here because of the hot springs, and had to pay an additional tax for the hot springs, but on the paper rules they gave and the fliers in the hotel clearly state that people with tattoos cannot use the bath. This is their right, and I know Now that most onsens prohibit tattoos, but they should put the policy on the hotels.com listing for dumdum foreigners like me.
Upon check-in the desk person was nice enough to give us some stickers to cover them, but it was a weird conversation about how big they were and where they were located on our bodies. Since the onsen is so particular about washing thourougly before entering, it felt weird to go in with 10 large adhesive stickers stuck on our bodies. Also, the rules stated that no matter the seal, tattoos are not allowed. Period.
Everything else was great, free laundry, free ice cream, free coffee, free midnight noodles, nice room, very quiet, roam in the provided Pajamas. It was just a big bummer we couldn't use the bath.
