PLEASE NOTE: The Mauna Kea Hotel and golf course will be undergoing renovations starting April 15, 2024. The project will be done in phases and is expected to last until the end of 2025. Many of the amenities and restaurants will remain open. Please reach out to us for detailed information. The Westin Hapuna Hotel/amenities and golf course will not be affected.

Mauna Kea Resort Amenity Program: Guests have option to add on the Mauna Kea Hotel Gold Membership and Hapuna Hotel amenity access program for additional fees ($130 + tax per day, per house, for 2 bedroom accommodation for 2025). Please inquire on details. At least, one week advance notice/registration required to participate in this benefit. Here are the details: Two Beaches – towels, chairs, umbrellas (rental of beach equipment such as snorkels, fins and boogie boards is available for a fee). Two Pools – towels, chairs. Two Golf Courses (at special rates). Seaside Tennis Club (at hotel guest rates). Two Fitness Centers (general access & use of equipment and facilities is included; there is a charge for all classes). Entry Key Cards for access to parking lots and fitness centers at both hotels. Charging Privileges – for ease in using Resort restaurants, retail shops and activities.

Amenities:
Beach Equipment: All of our vacation rentals include beach towels for the maximum occupancy, four beach chairs, two boogie boards, one beach umbrella and one small portable cooler.
Non-Smoking: All of our vacation rentals are Non Smoking (including e-cigarettes). There is no smoking allowed inside or outside of this home.
Hair Dryer: There are hairdryers in each bathroom.
Baby Equipment: Due to safety/sanitation/liability we do not provide baby equipment. Please refer to our Concierge Service page on for local company that rents, delivers and picks up baby equipment.
No Pets: All of our vacation rentals are pet free.
Parking: Parking for one car in any open/unmarked spot on a first come, first serve basis. Oversized or commercial vehicles are not allowed.
Swimming Pool: Yes. community swimming pool Hot Tub: Private Hot Tub. Hot tub is not safety fenced.
Air Conditioning: Yes, central air conditioning throughout.
BBQ: There are no BBQ grills at the Kumulani complex
Washer and Dryer: All of our vacation rentals have a washer and dryer in the unit.
Cable TV: Yes. TV's located in Living Room and bedrooms
WIFI: WIFI included.
Linens: All bed, bath linens and beach towels provided.
Kitchen: Cookware, Drinkware, Utensils, Dishware, Drip Style Coffee Maker and a Keurig Coffee Maker, Blender, Rice Cooker.

Kumulani is located in the Hapuna side of the Mauna Kea Resort. Located on the hillside wth ocean views. Unit D2 is on the ground floor of the D Building.

All of our vacation rentals include a basic “start-up supply” of: laundry detergent, garbage bags, kitchen sponge, liquid soap, dishwasher liquid, paper towels, toilet paper, conditioning shampoo, small bar soap, all-purpose cleaner and salt/pepper. Cooking oils, condiments, spices, food storage bags, plastic wrap and aluminum foil are not provided. Once the startup supply runs out, guests can restock at nearby grocery stores.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this amazing property. Everything was perfect, the views, the decor amenities etc. This is the nicest VRBO property we have ever stayed and close to two great beaches, Hapuna and Mauna Kea. The optional resort pass was very pricey (130 a day) for what it gets you. For example we still had to pay 100 an hour to play tennis at Mauna Kea. Would love to stay here again. SL

I use to own kumalani J-3 for over 20 years. I liked this property better, the remodel is great. I’m glad it’s on ground level and I hope to stay there again!!

This condo was in a beautiful property that was part of two resort hotels. It was beautifully decorated and a great location! Very quiet and serene atmosphere on the fourth hole of the golf course. It had all upscale amenities and the view from the well decorated lanai was fantastic! Would go back and stay longer!highly recommend!

This is a wonderful property---newly redone, spotlessly clean, and beautifully and tastefully decorated. Our party of three adults had a delightful time enjoying the view and sipping wine on the lanai. It is in fact just as spectacular as the pictures indicate. Communication with management was excellent--they were very responsive to the single and minor issue we raised. We would rent again for sure--highly recommend!!

This property was recently re-done and the appliances and kitchen tools are great. The space is very comfortable with a den that was perfect for the two 8 year olds to share (probably wouldn't be a place a grown up would want). The lanai faces the 4th hole of the Hapuna hole so you get a lot of privacy and star gazing, and some space for your kids to run around. I always love our stays at the Mauna Kea since the beach can't be beat. The property manager was super helpful and very available. Would highly recommend.

Unit is nice and accurately described. We liked the layout and it worked well for our family of four. The kitchen was well equipped - we appreciated the Tupperware, nice wine glasses, and cooking gear. The bed and furniture are comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the loungers. You look at a golf course, and see the ocean in the distance - nice but not great. The unit could do with some soundproofing as we heard the upstairs tenant stomping around as early as 5:30 in the morning. The hotel amenity package is lacking. We were wondering what we actually paid for (parking?) The beaches are open to the public and anyone can buy drinks, there’s poor service at the hotels and they are under construction. Also, we bought a bunch of stuff to grill and discovered the community barbecue was not working. We sent a message the following morning and 24 hours later we still haven’t heard a thing back.

This condo was beautiful with a spectacular view of the ocean in the distance and the golf course literally outside your lanais. We only had a couple of days, but it was so relaxing, clean, and quiet. We’d definitely stay here again and recommend!
