We spent 4 nights at Ixchel in May 2024 and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, well decorated and run like a well-oiled machine, from the cleaning staff to front desk staff to the beach and on-site restaurant staff. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and so helpful. Our room was clean and had fresh towels every day, and it had the basics of what was needed: a mini fridge, a microwave, a tv, etc. Shower pressure was good, the mattress was nice and firm and our room overlooked the pool (we didn’t have a balcony, but that was fine). The location of the hotel is perfect, steps away from the beautiful Playa Norte beach and the start of one of the main strips, Av. Hidalgo, where restaurant and shops are located—so you have plenty of eating options outside of the hotel. And yes, they had plenty of lounge chairs, so no need for getting out early to reserve anything. All in all, I highly recommend Ixchel and look forward to staying there again.

The location is perfect (right on North beach, which is usually very busy, and right in town). The location couldn't be better if you want to be in the middle of everything. The small pool was lovely, and the on-site restaurant was good. I did have one concern that was resolved very well. I had booked an "ocean front" room which I thought would mean right on the ocean, walk out access, but to this hotel it means 'ocean facing' on the 5th floor. I expressed my disappointment that the room wasn't ocean front, and they did their best to accommodate me, and ended up giving me a very lovely room, on the ground floor, with direct beach access. So be aware that the "Ocean Front" room means 'facing the ocean', not direct access to the ocean. But I give this hotel staff high marks for making my stay so wonderful!

I love Ixchel! It’s situated on the best beach in Isla Mujeres. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff are friendly and professional. This was my second visit, and I’d definitely return for a third.

Very nice property updated and comfortable rooms. I would upgrade to a balcony room next time. Water cooler in the room was a big plus, tasty juices/ smoothies on property and countless beach clubs and restaurants within walking. We had no problem getting chairs and umbrellas on the beach in early Feb.

Ixchel is my favorite place to stay on the island. Great rooms. Restaurant on site is great. The best part is the beach being so clise. Ixchel has to be my favorite place to stay on Isla Mujeres.

Amazing stay at Isla! Would recommend.
We had a really nice stay over NYE in 2023. Great location next to "downtown" Isla Mujeres with a great stretch of beach in front of the hotel. The suite was way above our expectations; I'd love to go back and stay in the same unit. My only very small complaint is that the pillows are really tall/firm which I found uncomfortable, so maybe bring a small travel pillow if you prefer a thinner pillow.
