Disappointed
It’s been over 6 weeks since I was supposed to stay at this hotel and I am still waiting for my refund from hotels.com / the hotel. I had booked 2 rooms on 2 separate bookings and 1 of those did not get through to the hotel, despite the fact I had the confirmation from hotels.com and I booked 2 months in advance. The lady at reception, while pleasant, was not the receptionist and had to call the manager John to deal with us, it transpired the hotel was full so we only had the 1 room. We had to make alternative arrangements. John agreed to refund the room we had there as we weren’t going to use it, however, said we had to do through hotels.com because he didn’t know how to work “internet things”. I immediately contacted hotels.com and they have been so unhelpful I am still waiting for my £85 back. In the time we were at this hotel: 1) some paramedics barged in looking for someone who’d made a call and it was chaotic and no one at reception knew anything about it. 2) a lady carrying a 1/2 bottle of vodka stumbled in. I felt like I was in an episode of faulty towers

A pleasant stay
It was pleasant quiet hotel . we were welcomed at reception very nicely. The breakfast was amazing and nice room and sheets. Everything good clean well displayed. No problem with it at all really.

Quiet position near the town and park. The staff at breakfast was very friendly and remembered our individual orders from one day to the next. The facilities in the en-suite were adequate, although small in space.

2nd stay just as good
This is the second time we have stayed here. A little bit old fashioned but clean and well maintained. I had advised the hotel we would be late arriving, we were met at the door with a smile. Breakfast was excellent.

The staff were very accomodating and allowed me a very early checkin and to leave my car there all day. They gave me an early breakfast and were very very helpful

Good value for money stay
A bit dated but perfectly OK. Lovely big room, clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful and a nice full English breakfast (included in the price). Would definitely stay again.

I stayed for two days and upon returning on day two I found my room open and unlocked. Anyone could have walked in. Breakfast the first day was very average so I decided to pass the second day. When I went down to check out there were numerous guests confused and hungry as no breakfast was served.

We'd stay again
Hotel is a little tired but clean and welcoming. Room was a reasonable size, ensuite small but more than adequate. Breakfast was excellent and the dining room has a lovely view over the garden

Excellent location and value for money room.
Friendly and professional staff. Clean and comfortable room. Slept very well. The rear garden was large and well maintained, ideal for relaxing with a early evening drink or to read a book. Wi fi and the car parking was free, which is a bonus. My room was value for money especially on a Friday night.

This is advertised as a hotel, it is not, it is a B&B. Value for money as breakfast is included in price, bed was to firm for me and nearest food was a 20min walk away. Place is a tad tired. if it was advertised as a B&B i would not have booked this. It is not a Hotel

Wimblehurst Hotel Single Room
My room was very small but warm and cosy. The mattress was a little lumpy but the linens were fresh and crisp. The hotel definitely needs some updating and painting which may get rid of the musty, bleach/air freshener smells. Location was great for me; free parking a great feature and RAVE - the cooked breakfast was really good.

I had trouble finding someone to check me in - there seemed to be one member of staff there, who was cleaning one of the rooms and didn't hear the bell at reception. The hotel listed a licensed bar as one of its facilities, but it was not open nor did it look much used, other than as a storeroom for laundry bags.
