Excellent grounds and location, pity the rooms...
This is no doubt a gorgeous property, and with a great location right beside West Lake so perfect for people looking for idyllic strolls beside the lake or a jog in the morning in beautiful surrounds. The letdown however were the rooms - they were unfortunately slightly dated. Should the rooms be refreshed i would have no qualms choosing this hotel whenever I come to Hangzhou

Beautiful hotel in Hangzhou
This was an amazing hotel on beautiful grounds and the perfect place to stay in Hangzhou. Would love to go back. Everyone from the staff was accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend.

Hotel is located on a large lakeside historic property. Staff is excellent, the breakfast buffet is great. However it is a dated resorted, the room furnishings bear no resemblance to the photos. Bathrooms showing some age. Not within walking distance, it is a secure, secluded resort. An excellent value and well worth staying there!

Beautiful hotel has nice garden, historic building and excellent West Lake view. Very friendly and well trained staff, delicious food.... we had good time in this hotel, and will recommend it to other friends who like to go to HangZhou.

Property is old, but service is great. Dining was way too expensive which was not match what I got. Food had too much sugar and overly charged as well as breakfast fee. I was treated really well by a staff Mr Lu, he helped me plan the day trip and connected me to driver who did amazing service , he also helped me got tickets to a famous night show which I enjoyed a lot. this one day trip in Hangzhou gave me great impression . I strongly recommend this hotel for its location, service

The hotel is right at XiZi lake, walking distance to most sightseeing places, especially Leifeng Pagoda. The landscape of the hotel may be the best in XiZi lake due to much less tourist. The facilities are kind out of date as it was built years ago.

Hotel is the architectural characteristics of jiangnan garden, hotel accommodation is allocated in different buildings according to the room type, there will be differences between rooms, looking forward to your next choice of other rooms for experience.

Highly recommend! The location is super convenient if you’d like to be close to west lake. It’s technically within west lake area. Enjoy west lake view when walking around the hotel. It’s walking distance, within 10 mins, to Leifeng pagoda, which is one of the most popular tourist sites. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful here, they helped me getting tickets to shows and recommended many local food. I will stay here again.

Glorious views of the lake
The grounds of the hotel are vast and beautifully landscaped. Staying there felt like a lovely retreat. The grounds meet up with one end of the wide, beautiful, shaded 2-mile causeway that stretches over a good portion of West Lake. Don’t miss it. Also, we took the 6:30 p.m. hourlong boat ride from the hotel. We were astonished and delighted by getting up close to the water and light show, which we hadn’t known about. The hotel staff bent over backward to help us in every way. The restaurant food was very good. We loved our stay.

Excellent Location! Beautiful view of west lake! Delightful garden design! I have always relaxed and enjoyed to stay at XiZi, especially the staffs are very friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the breakfast very much. It's delicious! Emily Chen, the restaurant manager, and Diana make me feel very welcoming.

Private and beautiul space next to the Westlake. You will be staying in the same fence with Chinese military. Mudan restaurant serve large variety of fancy Hangzhou dishes.

Absolutely beautiful resort located inside of Westlake (Xihu). Staff were professional and friendly, rooms & bathroom were cleaned and beds were comfortable. This hotel also offered delicious traditional Chinese Food at reasonable price. In addition, the hotel ground is well-maintained and offered prime view of Westlake. Highly recommended! I will definitely stay with Xizi Hotel the next time I visit.

Lake front hotel
It locates in West Lake, next to several famous West Lake spot. The villas are surrounding by beautiful landscape with tall trees and horticulture. Visitors can enjoy a quiet morning walk by West Lake. Its historical background add credit to its glamour. It has high privacy and quiet. The staffs are friendly and helpful.

nice location, but the security is too much... roads constantly blocked to convenient some high government officials. Rooms are okay, pretty old, no coffee machine. No parking lot, the sparking spots are scattered around the walls next to the tiny drive way.

Great scenery view and very peaceful place.
Water leaked from bath tub but the manager acted very fast by switching us to a different room the same day. The hotel restaurant is quite pricey, so we picked some restaurants nearby with better food quality and cheaper price.

Nature at its crowded best
A very disjointed hotel spread out over expansive private grounds overlooking Westlake. Originally put into villa 8 apartments where the room was old , bed was disgustingly hard and only matched by staff who did not have any interest in assisting a somewhat weary traveller. I went to main section and asked to be shown decent rooms as this was the resort world leaders stayed for the G20 summit. Was taken to villa 3 section where the rooms were in a different class to where I was originally taken. The staff there were also so helpful. Stayed in room 3107 which was top class in every way. Breakfast as the whole resort is aimed at the Chinese tourist so plan properly in advance. Definitely worth staying there providing you stay in one of the newer villa complexes

Amazing hotel, very comfortable spacious room with a luxury feel. Great location with enormous beautiful lakeside gardens and walk way around west lake. Highly recommended.

Great Hotel with a Great Location
Perfect location on the West Lake scenic area. Amenities were great as were the hotel rooms. Great stay! Food at the hotel was great but expensive (cheaper to eat outside). Free bicycle rental was provided but the brakes didnt really work, and you couldn't ride by the lake either. Perhaps a better idea to just walk around. All in all a great hotel that I would definitely reccommend!
