A family run motel. Very friendly and welcoming. The motel is old. An antique. But kept clean and comfortable. Handy to the city centre, Hamilton Lake and Balloons Over Waikato (hot air balloon festival).

Overall, our one night stay at the Tudor Motor Lodge was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the outside of the motel was a little rundown and we had been looking forward to a swim but the pool was closed (we had not been warned about this beforehand). However, the staff was friendly and helpful and very considerately offered to give us a first floor room because we had a heavy piece of luggage. All in all a comfortable place to spend the night.

Property is old and could do with a spruce up but was definitely adequate for our need of a bed for the night. Most importantly, everything was clean. Location was good.

It’s a clean bed for the night.
We only stayed for one night passing through. It’s had better days. Its old and run down. The beds were clean and that’s all that mattered. We wouldn’t have stayed for any longer.

You pay for what you get. Its not a terrible place, the location is good. The rooms like they are from the 1980s, but they are simple, clean and what you expect from a Motel Lodge. I would recommend for something basic and simple and would stay again given the location.

Interactions with staff were pleasant and accommodating. Our room, although tired looking was very clean. Parking fairly tight, but managed to obtain one nightly. Overall suited our requirements perfectly.

Run down
Handy location to where we had to go, but the place was so run down and dirty, the carpet had stains and was sticky, rotting wood, dog poop outside our room, uncomfortable pillows and bed etc etc. It looks like it could have once been a nice place but hasn’t been looked after for a while and the owners haven’t spent any money on maintenance or convenience items like soap. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Did not look much from the front, but a very comfortable unit with full facilities and very clean.the only addition that I'd ask for ,is a safety lock on the door to complement the door lock

Very easy to book in, staff were okay as we had little contact. Bit mingy with the tea bags, had to buy extra. Warm and dry unit at a reasonable price. Would use again

The stove was missing buttons one window was missing latches, electric blanket had no on off switch so couldn’t be used only 4 sets of linen 6 bed unit, towel rail hanging off wall and shower wouldn’t drain properly eeeeeewh!!!! And bathroom was like a cool store no heating or expelaire was clean though

I booked two rooms a some months before we arrived and requested they be together. They were not and were quite some distance apart. The person at reception appeared surly when I arrived to uplift the keys. One room was fine, however our room had a musty/sour/BO type smell which was unpleasant and was shabby compared to the other room.

Property was quite old and run down inside and out. However the staff were friendly and helpful, the shower was good and the bed comfortable. Also it is within walking distance to the lake and shops/restaurants. Having said that, we would not stay there again.

OK, but could be a lot better
Pros: close to town, on site parking, one bedroom apartment, kitchen with basic amenities. Cons: smoking allowed on walkway outside room so smoke comes in neighbours windows, gardens are not well kept, pool did not look inviting and area around it desperately needs landscaping, terrible pillows, wifi very patchy, living area converted into sleeping area with two single beds, so had to sit on them or at dining table to watch TV, walls badly patched and painted and other repairs done half heartedly eg stovetop replacement and makes it looked very unloved. TV in main bedroom had been removed.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and comfy, and the beds were comfortable. The room has an electric cook top, bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Ample parking. Nothing too flash but it is a cheaper option.

Excellent Staff
The staff was extremely helpful. It's a bit hilly if you would like to walk. We walked 4 bkocks to a large grocery store. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to take our evening and breakfast meals in.

Sheets were dirty, towels were stained - everything was very tired and the pool is no longer available. Pretty disappointed to be honest. It was quiet and the shower had good pressure but the condition of the towels override that

Book this location for the use of the pool while in town only to find the pool a dark shade of green. I dont mind old, but this could do with a bit of money spent on the beds, pillows and a clean up of the areas that we need tom walk around.
