Mountainside Escape: EV Charger, Patio & Views
Enjoy a magical alpine retreat in this charming Larkspur home! This mountainside retreat is the perfect place for families and adventurers. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Larkspur boasts breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities. Explore Pike National Forest or head to Mueller State Park for even more activities, such as horseback riding, fishing, stargazing, and mountain biking. Only 11 min to Renaissance Fest! Larkspur is your paradise waiting to be discovered!
We are here for you during your stay but our level of interaction is up to you. We are only a phone call or message away. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival and self check-out upon departure.
Once a week, one of our team members will stop by the property to put out the trash cans, replenish our supplies, and/or restock sheets and towels. They will NOT enter the home. They have access to the garage or shed with a code. This day may or may not fall during your stay.
Located between Denver and Colorado Springs on Highway I-25, Larkspur is a quaint town of less than 200 residents. It's famous for the Colorado Renaissance Festival, which takes place every summer. Larkspur is also home to the headquarters building of Universal Co-Masonry and is committed to preserving the natural environment unique to the area.
Established in 1871, Larkspur's post office was named after the larkspur flower. The town was incorporated in 1979 and has a vision statement of fostering a government of integrity that responds to its people, directing growth within small town values, providing community facilities and activities for all ages.
DRIVING DISTANCES: CO Renaissance Festival - 11 min Denver - 50 mins CO Springs - 43 mins Castle Rock - 23 mins Deckers - 68 mins Breckenridge - 2 hrs and 7 mins Fairplay - 2 hrs Vail - 2 hrs and 49 mins
We are accessible year-round. Our home is located on a county road that gets plowed when there's snow; however, we still recommend AWD with good tire tread in the snowy months (generally December to April). Winter driving conditions on the highways leading to the home can change rapidly, so check the weather before heading out.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains at this breathtaking mountainside getaway! With 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, this charming home enchants with its awe-inspiring scenery and abundant outdoor activities.

AREA: Whether you're drawn to the great outdoors or captivated by the scenic beauty of the Rocky Mountains, Larkspur offers something for everyone. With one million acres of Pike National Forest surrounding the area and the addition of Mueller State Park, a wide range of recreational activities await, including horseback riding, fishing, skiing, hunting, stargazing, and mountain biking, just to name a few.
Public transportation is extremely limited in this area. To conveniently get around, we recommend renting a car or utilizing ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft.
INTERNET/CELLPHONE SERVICE & COVERAGE: You are in a remote area and that means some providers will have issues accessing service on their phones. Most folks have full LTE coverage everywhere on the premises, regardless of your service provider. You might run into dead zones on your way here. However, we have strong Wi-Fi to connect to at the property.
THE WILDLIFE: There are animals around the premises including many deer, foxes, multiple species of raptors and other birds, armadillos, many rabbits, black bears, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, mountain lions, coyotes and more! You won’t see all of these at the cabin, but if you get out on the trails, you might get lucky...
MOUNTAIN LIVING: 1. We are located just shy of 7,000 feet so please drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness. 2. Sometimes the wind kicks up to remind us of all the things we cannot control, but it usually settles down again within a few hours. You would be best not to leave belongings outside. 3. Wildlife is somewhat rare but has been known to wander through so please do not leave food outside at night. 4. Be prepared with lots of clothing layers so you can adapt to changing conditions. Storms come and go quickly.
RESPECT: Our home is located in a remote, mountain town. As visitors to the area, please think about your impact on our town and the small surrounding communities. Please respect full-time residents' privacy and solitude. Follow Leave No Trace guidelines when visiting and recreating in the beautiful outdoors, and consider supporting local dining and shopping during your stay.
SMOKING/VAPING: We like to keep our properties as fresh as the outside alpine air. If you need to smoke or vape, you'll need to step outside to do so. There will be a $600 fine for any smoking inside the home.
Events are subject to approval. Please note event fees will apply.
Please remember that you’re staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP.

Great place to stay with our daughter and 4 grandchildren ( 6-11 years old)! Plenty of space to enjoy family! Beautiful quiet setting. Close to hiking, fishing, and attractions. Great communication by property manager for check in and house manual is detailed. Very helpful!
What’s not to love! Wonderful!

We chose this house at the last minute because of its proximity to family. With the added stress of last minute travel arrangements, it was a relief that we found a home so close. The ease of reservation, check in and check out processes was an added bonus. The home was very comfortable with little effort required.

Lovely home and location. However, we emailed and asked if there was a blender and was told there was. We never found one. We were told there was WiFi and it took some serious time and digging to find the password. It was posted nowhere in the house and it took several calls before we got someone to answer on the phone number posted on the website. (Unhappy teenagers who envisioned five days without it!) We received instructions on how to operate the outside chiminea -- we never found one. We took ingredients to make cookies -- never found a cookie sheet. Spilled some popcorn -- never found a broom and/or dustpan. Unpacked our groceries and every cupboard was chock full and there was nowhere to put anything so we wound up leaving them boxed up on the floor. Very few towels (and low quality) provided for 11 adults for five days! Two HUGE safety concerns were no non-slip decals or mats in any of the bathrooms and the wooden stairs had woven mats on them that were not tacked down and slipped and slid under your feet as you went up and down the stairs.
