Regret booking to stay 10 - 13 March (3 x nights). Only very basic service provided each day and communication from the staff was difficult. The motel feels in many areas like it has not been upgraded since it was originally built in the 1970s. Carpet was also lifting in some areas presenting a trip risk / hazard. Request for at least 1 x night refund for my inconvenience / poor experience.

The room was the right size for my needs. The service at the front counter was very professional and polite. The service staff were very polite and efficient. Highly recommended this motel

We particlarly enjoyed the spaciousness of our room and the comfortable kingsize bed. Great shower too. We had chosen Dilomat for is proximity to Southern Eye Hospital so the above factors were definitely a bonus

Disappointing
The motel room was very dated and was dark and dingy. The room appeared not to have been cleaned for a long time. There was a large spider web on the window in one room, food in the cutlery draw and thick dust all over the surfaces. The window in the main bedroom did not close. The bathroom needs to be renovated. A good clean and update to the bathroom would improve this accomodation.

Unfortunately we left early. We couldn't stay our whole trip. Although the staff were lovely. The rooms weren't up to expectations. There was mould in the shower, no kids area they could actually play in. The double bed was 2single beds pushed together that kept separating through the night.

We loved the space in the unit and the small little garden courtyard. It was perfect for the grandparent with young new family weekend we spent in Christchurch.

the motel was close to everything we needed to do. But the rooms i found were a wee bit dirty, not thoroughly cleaned and the are getting a bit old looking. The gardens out the back of the rooms need tidied up.

The room was highly overpriced for what it was. Room needs renovated. It wasn’t clean, and the pool needed painted and rubbish removed from area. Owner needs to stay in one of the rooms.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were warmly greeted and shown to our unit. The units were very clean & comfortable with a lovely garden area out the back. The kitchen & bathroom decor was a bit dated and the curtains needed to be hung properly. However, the price was very reasonable for the handy location.

Nice and clean, beds were comfy. Just a few things could do with a tidy up and some maintenance. We would stay here again.

Review of Diplomat Motel
The manager was very friendly and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean. However there was no lightbulb in the toilet and the decor was a little tired. I would recommend this motel to friends.

Comfortable clean unit.
Recently refurbished (freshly painted) spacious older motel unit. Very clean. Good kitchen facilities - full size stove and all the necessary equipment to cook a real meal.
