Beautiful place, and in a lovely location. Buried nearby which is a lovely chocolate box picturesque town.. pub/hotel was lovely, very lively in the evening, but super quiet once the pub closed for the rooms above! Continental breakfast was great, I also had a sausage sandwich which was crammed with loads of local sausages!

The Lamb Inn was the perfect spot for our first visit to the Cotswolds. Quiet location with great outdoor eating and fantastic pub. Service was amazing and welcoming. Our room was small but very well appointed and had a rustic look with stone and a huge fireplace.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Lamb's Inn. The room was fantastic, the staff was so friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Deep clean required, surfaces ringed, tables sticky. Evening meal poor and oversalted, fire out by 7 p.m due to lack of care, drab overall appearance. Rooms fine, newly refurbished and bed comfortable, but staff casual, with exception of Aidan, who tried to help in all areas.NOT a welcoming atmosphere.Money demanded before retiring, though booked 2 nights, last straw!!

Not impressed
On arrival we were told that we were not expected, got an excuse that a change of ownership meant they didn’t have any booking references and that I had to pay again for my stay even though I had my confirmation and paid marked on it, when I told the manager this was not right I got the reply, you can go and stay somewhere else. As it was late we agreed to stay one night instead of the two we had planned, I begrudgingly paid for one night again as it was getting late. We asked could we get some food and were told begrudgingly that we could only have pizza from the menu, which to be fair was quite good. The bed was small and uncomfortable, we only had one towel between us. The carpet was thread bare and the room needed a refresh. I hated my stay and would never go there again.

Very upset. Our whole weekend spoiled. Booked through Expedia for two nights at the Lamb. Arrived on Friday only to told there is no staff and are not taking bookings. Managed to find alternative for Fri night but couldnt get anywhere for Sat as all other places where full due to Silverstone Grand Prix. We had to go home. Not good enough. This establishment should have been removed from the web site.

Stayed at the Lamb for the long bank holiday weekend with our dog. we had a great time! The Lamb is a great little inn with lots of character and history. Food throughout was fantastic and staff were lovely. Can highly recommend the duck spring rolls, fish and chips and full english breakfast!!! We stayed in the african themed Leopard Hills room, gorgeous four poster bed, great size and decent bathroom. Only has a very small tv but as we were out all day it wasnt something that mattered to us. Brilliantly positioned with lots of walks in stunning countryside and some other nice pubs close by. We will def be going back. Wouldnt recommend if you were slightly less mobile as the stairs to the rooms are very steep and the floor is wonky as you would expect in a building of this age, we though it was great though, adds to the character of an english county inn! This would also not be the area for you i you didnt like dogs! All the pubs/hotels we stopped at were dog friendly which we loved but appreciate thats not everyones cup of tea. most places did have dog-free restaurant areas though, including the lamb.

The Lamb
This hotel has deteriorated terrible since the photos online were posted; probably since the most recent tenants have taken over. It is a lovely old pub that is now dirty, unkept & poorly decorated. There were still Xmas lights up in the dining room & our visit was at the end of June! The staff are not pleasant at all; they should be running a dive bar in the rough part of town. The bar itself was full of soccer hooligan types watching football almost 24 hours a day. I felt very uncomfortable even being in the room. My 12 year old daughter was frightened to walk past it! This place is a tragedy. It could be lovely; as it probably was. The cost of the room was far too high for what was provided. We booked & paid for a triple room but were given a double with a camp bed. However I wouldnt stay there again if they paid me to.

Room and place was very nice, good breakfasts, friendly staff. A little dusty (and very creaky) on top of our incredible wooden 4 poster bed. Would we come back? There's so many places to stay, possibly not. Would we recommend? Maybe.

Something felt wrong
Did not meet our expectations. We have often looked in at the Lamb when in the area and thought it seemed very popular with good atmosphere. On arrival at about 5pm on a lovely sunny Friday afternoon, it was almost deserted. It got no better later and we ate in the bar on our own at 8.30. The food was ok but not outstanding. We thought Saturday may be better, but, if anything, it was even quieter. The lack of people meant no atmosphere. We got the impression that something had changed - maybe management - and it had lost the support of locals and is struggling.. The TV in the bar immediately beneath us was on late on Friday, despite hardly any customers and 3 drinkers stayed late and loudly on Saturday. Breakfasts were good, but again, we were alone.

We ended up cutting our stay at the Lamb Inn short. We weren't able to check in to the room we had actually booked due to an extremely loud 50th birthday disco happening right underneath our room (to the point that the floor was shaking). Luckily, the manager on duty said that another room was available as a couple of guests hadn't turned up. The noise in the alternative room was still so loud that we had to go out to another Inn down the road for the evening. The music was still going on when we returned at midnight, albeit at a lower level. When we questioned this the next day and asked what we would be charged for our stay that first night, the manager said that if we wanted a reduction he would charge us the full rate for our alternative room, which was apparently more expensive! Although no mention of this was made when we checked in the night before. We were told that we should expect this kind of thing if we book a country inn. We therefore chose to cut our stay short. Aside that fiasco, the room was not clean - the shower curtain was mouldy, the curtains were torn, the carpet was stained. The one thing we really enjoyed was the breakfast. We wouldn't stay at the Lamb Inn again.

Characterful hotel with good cooking
Helpful staff in this lovely honey coloured stone traditional ancient Cotswold inn. The single bed in our curiously named Paris en Provence room was a collapsible bed, smaller than standard size and very uncomfortable, but it was not shown as a temporary bed on the website (had it have been, we would not have booked the room). The double bed did not have a very thick mattress and was not that comfortable either, but maybe we are getting spoiled with memory foam mattresses. We didn't mind the precipitous stair case - that's what comes with the characterful old building, but completely unsuitable for anyone not very steady on their feet. I suggest that the description of the two rooms leading off this staircase contain a warning. The room was scrupulously clean, but some of the landing/stairway carpets were seriously marked/stained. Cooked breakfasts were generous and well above average, although some fruit at breakfast would have been welcome. We enjoyed our dinner there, and excellent wines, and special congratulations to the chef who prepared the innovative cheese (savoury) pannacotta.

Nice Inn With Friendly Staff
The Staff were friendly, in a nice country inn setting, breakfast Ok , Evening meals nice. The only disappointment was the description of the room. as a family room with double bed & single bed. There are no single beds in this establishment except a put you up bed placed at the end of the double bed not as described on the web site,at the stage of turning up two single gents for our two night stay there was nothing else we could do.

Disappointing weekend at the Lamb.
The hotel is very tired, and in a state of disrepair. There were so many things in our room that needed repairing or replacing. There was nothing welcoming at all about the place, we wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone else.

very poor condition in need of investment to bring it up to a standard that you would expect in view of the high cost to stay.Breakfast was satisfactory but not inviting to say the least.Bedroom (Roman Road) was not good at all ceiling light was hanging off the bathroom was not cleaned properly the grouting round the bath/shower was black with limescale. All in all i would not stay there again and suggest the **** grading be reduced to a realistic 2*

Quaint, old pub with rooms in the sleepy Cotswolds
Great location for exploring the beautiful Cotswolds area. Very old Inn with rooms, with such character. Rooms were cosy and just enough room for 2 adults and our daughter who slept at the bottom of our bed in a camp bed. Owners were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK, a small selection of cereals, jams and fruit juice, along with a choice of Full English or Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs. Would recommend this pub with rooms to friends and family.
