A stunning, contemporary apartment in Catania’s Centro Storico. The ideal base, is right in the heart of one of Italy’s most exciting cities. This ground-floor apartment, with a fabulous private terrace, sleeps 6 people.

The property is on a charming, quiet old street. In total contrast, the interior is all white walls and pale wooden floors. It is a stylish balance of modern furniture, mixed with some antique pieces and striking artworks. The apartment is laid out around a spacious central living area with a dining table and chairs and a flatscreen TV. The kitchen is just off this area and is well-equipped with a cooker hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a Nespresso machine.

The 3 bedrooms and separate bathroom all lead off the central room.

There is a peaceful, private courtyard terrace with tables and chairs where guests can relax or dine al fresco.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: A spacious bedroom with high ceilings and air conditioning. This room has a double bed and a separate single sofa bed, plus a large antique wardrobe.
Bedroom 2: An equally spacious bedroom with a double bed and a contemporary, mirrored wardrobe.
Bedroom 3: This bedroom has some eye-catching artwork and a comfortable double bed, plus ample storage.

Bathroom
The separate bathroom, off the central living area, has a bath with shower head, basin, bidet, WC and washing machine.

Location
This apartment is right in the centre of Catania, a city steeped in history. It is just 300 meters from the ancient Roman amphitheatre and a 13-minute walk from the Piazza del Duomo. The Duomo di Catania is a majestic Norman cathedral and hidden behind it you will find the daily fish market for the freshest local catch, plus good vegetables, fruit and meats.

The city is well-known for its delicious food with many local restaurants serving Sicilian specialities such as arancini, cannoli, lemon sorbet and wonderful seafood. Unique to Catania are the “cioscu”, little kiosks all over the city serving refreshments in the hot summer months. The most famous are in the Piazza Umberto (5 minutes walk).

If you need to get out of the city for a day, the Park of Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, (55 min drive) offers excellent hiking all year round, including hikes up to the peak of the volcano. Or head to the beach and La Playa di Catania (35 minute walk). This long, wide sandy beach has beach clubs, snack bars, a water park for children and a clean, blue sea.

Catania’s international airport is just a 20-minute drive from the apartment.
