Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time. The home is well-maintained and gorgeous. We had everything we needed and then some. Home had a laid back and cool style which I loved. Shout out to the gardener, cleaners, house managers, and pool man for their fantastic work. The views are amazing. The pool is fantastic and the lanai was a great place to hang out. Beds were large and comfy. The location is private but not isolated. Kayaking and great beaches just down the road. Snorkeling right below. Morning coffee on the swing enjoying the ocean breeze was the best. Highly recommend.

Just wonderful!

Ocean Song is a beautiful property! The house is spacious and the kitchen well appointed. Being right on the ocean is spectacular, and we saw whales many of the days that we were there. The property manager is very accessible and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again!.

Fabulous views!

This home is incredible! The outdoor set up is fantastic with plenty of comfortable seating and the best views you could hope for. We saw a lot of whales from the deck. The home is well stocked and beds are comfortable, and the host is very kind and accommodating. We hope to be back someday!

Love love love this place!

Comfortable, views can't be beat, right on the water, spent most of our time on the queen bed on the lanai looking out over the ocean watching the boats and snorklers, gorgeous pool, quiet, a short drive away from shopping or eating out, house has just about everything you need. We'll come back if we can.

Beautiful home and location

We loved our stay at this beautiful home in a stunning location. The home is in great shape and has everything you need, including flippers and snorkel equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a great grill on the patio. The location is incredible, but about 30 minutes to Kailua-Kona - which we did not mind as we were looking for beauty and tranquility. The bay is a magical place to kayak and snorkel, and the patio and pool were wonderful.

Island paradise

What an impressive place to relax and unwind!! Picking the limes and mangos on the property was so fun. Close to two amazing snorkeling spots at Manini Beach and Two Step. With all the site seeing we did during the day, we always tried to make it back to this house in the evening for the most amazing sunsets ever. I even saw the green flash that the locals talk about ! The owners have thought of everything needed to make our stay perfect. Even the rusty bikes worked great for an early morning spin around the area. Overall, best vacation home we have been in so far. Would definitely come back here.

Paradise Found

If you’re dreaming of an ocean side paradise, there is no more beautiful place to wake up than Ocean Song! It is located in a secluded area literally at the water’s edge. The house is very spacious so there is plenty of room to get together and to have some privacy. The kitchen, as well as the entire house, is well stocked with whatever you may need. And we even saw a humpback whale while having breakfast on the fantastic lanai! We can’t wait to visit Ocean Song again.

Secluded ocean paradise

There's a reason that Ocean Song gets so many glowing reviews (including this one). The setting is magical. As you cross the threshold through the back doors to the lanai area, you enter a kind of paradise. On our first morning there, we literally watched humpback whales frolic in the ocean under a rainbow-clad sky, all while sipping coffee on chaise longue chairs. We swam in the palm-fringed pool (clean, sufficiently deep, and comfortably lukewarm) during the day, and watched the sun set over the ocean in the evening. The only neighbors we really saw were the geckos; the only sounds we heard were chirping birds and the churning sea.Other, more earthly details of the property are secondary, but worth mentioning. The house can be a little warm in the evening, even though it does eventually cool down during the night. While there are window A/C units in two bedrooms, guests are discouraged from turning them down low. The house is itself is comfortable and spacious, if not extravagant. There are probably larger, more luxurious houses in the area in the same price range -- they just won't have a comparable outdoor area. If your idea of a Hawaiian vacation is to sit indoors, Ocean Song probably isn't for you.The hosts and house manager were helpful, with good communication.Finally, it should be noted that a price of seclusion is a long drive. The nearest commercial area is at least 15 minutes away.

Great location, natural Hawaii views and experience

This is a cozy and wonderful place to stay. Lots of curvy roads to get there. Certainly off the beaten path. But… this is the natural Hawaii. The “country” as locals would call it. There’s lots of wildlife; so many birds, mongooses, geckos and such. The views are amazing. Sunsets are straight out the back. You can snorkel right behind the house, Two Step is 5 minutes away and Captain Cook is around the corner. Your can cliff jump, maybe 15 feet tall, 100 yards from the house. Volcano national park is about 90 minutes away and with the new “Saddle Road” Hilo is only 90 minutes away also. This was such a good spot for a base of operation for the island. Many other good snorkel and beach spots are just to the north in Kona. Maybe 30 minutes away. Be mindful, this is in the country so you will see ants. The Big Island has a lot of ants so this isn’t unique to this house. Just take care of your food. Clean up crumbs and spills immediately. Don’t leave food out and you won’t have any real problems. We would stay here again in the future. Wonderful place.

This is our happy place!

Ocean Song has been our favorite place to stay in South Kona for many years now. We love the privacy and the location along with just a beautiful piece of property. It’s the perfect place to go especially if you want to just stay put and enjoy the view, the scent and the weather. We spend the majority of our time outside. There are so many spots for you to just relax and look out to sea. The sunsets are beautiful, of course and it’s fun to watch the passing boats and if you time it right, whales and dolphins. The pool is the perfect place to cool off or just float. Inside the house is lovely. Since we are almost always just the two of us we seem to really only occupy the Master bedroom and the kitchen. I will say the bedroom right off the living room is my favorite space inside the house. The kitchen pretty much covers everything you’ll need if you’re like us and prefer to prepare your own meals. With Costco, KTA and a couple Farmer’s Markets it’s easy to stock up on what you’ll need. There are always plenty of pantry items including spices and some things in the fridge. I would suggest bringing your own sharp knife, however. We have always found everything we might need in the house and if not, a drive up the hill to Shop Smart can take care of it. Kailua is down the hill and about a 30-40 minute drive or even Keahou shopping center isn’t far and has a couple good places to eat and various stores. Our 13 day stay here was amazing, especially since we had to cancel last year so we were missing all the things that Hawaii brings to your life.
