A hidden little gem
The last bit of approach to the resort is through an unpaved road. So its natural to be skeptical about what awaits you. But being in a secluded area probably gives the luxury of space. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to get such a property at a fairly reasonable price. There are 2 buildings. Try to select the older one since it provides a view of the Sigriya Rock, the biggest attraction around Dambulla. I stayed in the new wing. The family room was quite spacious and overlooked lush forest. The washroom was also large sized. We ordered a la carte for dinner and dishes were well prepared. Breakfast was sumptuous as well. Since there were a lot of cancellations due to Covid, the staff was always around to help the few guests. They kept chatting us up to make us feel welcome. Overall a nice well run small resort.

Difficult to access. Staff needs training.
Hotel is accessible only by a really rough mud path. Upon check in, I was given a room with only one king bed. I specified preference for one king and one twin in my booking. Somehow this information wasn't submitted to the hotel. Hotel staff didn't take any initiative to resolve this issue at all until I pushed them one step at a time.

This holiday was magical. The staff was friendly, attentive and did their best to make us feel home. The pool is designed in a fantastic way, that our two years old could play freely, while we could swim right next to him. The rooms were super clean and spacious and the chef was making a special menu for every meal. This is a must stay, if you truly want to relax and break away from the usual.

Outstanding customer service. Manager noticed me attending dinner alone and discretely enquired about my wife. I told him she was sick and he immediately arranged for water and coke to be sent to the room. This level of perception is rare and very admirable. Really enjoyed our short stay at Cassandra resort.

Lovely and secluded
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a bit removed from the rest and was hard to get to as the tuk tuk drivers did not appear to know where it was. The hotel calls a tuk tuk for you when you want to go and see the various sites around. The driver we had was exceptional and very helpful. We used him for 3 days while we were there. Weather ordered room service and had some issues which were resolved very well by Jeffery the manager. He went out if his way to make amends and truly went beyond resolving the issue. Big thanks to Jeffery the manager and Dumenda our tuk tuk driver. It is people like this that make Sri Lanka a lovely place to visit. Jinn

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Super clean room, with the best Wi-fi we have experienced in Sri Lanka. Buffet breakfast and dinner (don’t be put off by the buffet, it was a great way to try new local dishes) exceeded expectations and was delicious. Pool and surrounding area was well maintained. Would highly recommend.

This hotel was a beautiful find. The rooms were modern and spacious. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The dinner and breakfast buffet were outstanding. We really enjoyed our stay. We were sad we could only staying one night. We would definitely stay here again when we come back. Exceeded my expectations Thanks to Trip Advisor I booked this hotel. The room was very spacious with view of the Lion Rock. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was perfect. The bathroom has a large shower and plenty of hot water. Wi-fi worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised with the pool, which was nicer than the photos. The meals totally exceeded my expectations…absolutely worth it to take their half board. Lovely complete breakfast and for dinner a great choice of Sri Lankan barbecue items, typical and delicious plus a large selection of dishes, two soups to chose from, salads and many desserts. Furthermore their menu changes every night, so always new dishes to discover. They have a great chef ! The staff is delightful especially the manager Jeffrey who makes sure that his guests are totally happy with everything.

Among my favorite Sri Lanka hotel experiences
This was one of my favorite hotel stays in Sri Lanka. If I could plan trip again, I would have stayed here longer. We stayed in the new building on second floor with balcony looking into jungle. I prefer this over view in other building over pool. The room is contemporary with comfortable bed and furniture. The balcony us a great place to unwind and listen to jungle in evenings. The pool area and restaurant was lovely and tranquil. The food was delicious and service was good. We appreciated that they served wine, beer and cocktails as some locations do not in Sri Lanka. We enjoyed walking the roads outside the hotel grounds through countryside. This location is very convenient for seeing amazing ancient sites and climbing in this region.

This is a really lovely hotel, we were a bit dubious on the approach as the last road is more of a dirt track and not much around it but we favoured this as joint first of the 4 hotels we stayed at, the other one (Centara Ceysands Resort and Spa) being so different in size alone. The staff were very helpful, friendly and approachable and the food was excellent with plenty of choice. As we found with other small hotels, alcohol is limited, there's beer and at least a choice of wine and a daily cocktail. There's not a great enough demand to stock spirits as guests are usually up and out early seeing the sights etc so just a few drinks with dinner usually. There is a spa here though on the small side and the interior is not as welcoming as it could be (you look at the concrete floor whilst face down). Nothing wrong with the massage though. All said though we enjoyed our 3 nights here and rate it highly. If we were to be in this area again we'd definitely stay here 😀

Great choice hotel in Kandy
Nicely positioned in the city centre so we were near to everything, yet sound insulation was great, so quiet night's sleep. Room was extremely spacious with 3 windows. Good bsthroom facilities. Breakfast was generous and awesome, with attentive staff and including home made jams and marmalade. Didn't have time for a pool visit, but it looked a super additional facility. Great choice.

‘Best Hotel Ever’ is the review by my 8 year old son who was treated like a prince here! And I agree with him - the hotel was fantastic! Comfortable, stylish, the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It backs onto the jungle so we saw monkeys playing while we were poolside and it’s a perfect location for day visits to Dambulla, Sigiriya and Minneriya National Park. They were so caring to our son and let him help make hoppers - it looks like he’s moving out next year for a job in the kitchen! Kids are very welcome and it felt incredibly safe. It is a bit of a bumpy road to get there but totally worth it. The managers brother lives in England so they seem to have amenities and food with a perfect mix of local and western! It’s a reasonable price too considering the luxuries! Oh also they happily gave our driver accommodation too (if that’s how you’re travelling. Bravo and huge thanks!

Our experience was tops. The room was excellent with nice balacony, very helpful staff and great good. We were there for Christmas and they put on a great show for the visitors. We loved the pool, massages and pretty much everything.

Sri Lankan gem
What a gem to start our 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. Welcome in tropical rain was great. The room enormous with wonderful view of Sigiriya. The pool was very well designed with adults and children well catered for. The food was excellent with a very varied menu with daily changes. The staff could not have been more helpful with gracious smiles all round. The Christmas Eve party was a ball with competitive dancing from the staff. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely place and great value, me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon (about the right amount of time for the area) and loved the place, staff very friendly and hotel is only 2 years old so very modern and clean and the food is good also. We came here from 5 star luxury in the Maldives so thought there could have been a culture shock but had nothing to fear as it’s such a lovely place to stay, would recommend as we visited a couple of other nearby hotels for lunch and certainly not as nice even though they are more expensive to stay in.

Great Staff/Great Location/Essential Needs Hotel
Our stay was lovely. This hotel is right by the Udawalawe National Park, so location is KEY. It's about 7 minutes away while other hotels are farther or not as well-kept from the exterior, it seems. You should keep in mind that this is NOT a luxury hotel. It is basic and has everything you need, but is in Sri Lanka, not Manhattan, NYC. That means that it is not new or luxurious, but it IS very clean, there's a lot of extremely helpful, utterly kind and very attentive staff. EVERY person at Le Green was polite and gave 100% effort for ALL requests. They have adapters for you, a nice pool, a big menu for a small hotel and aim to please. The Hotel provides a Safari with their own truck/jeep, so they booked and took us (on time) take us there and back, seamlessly. For the area, this is one of the best options. Do not expect a full-functioning Hilton and your expectations will be met. Nicer people, a better location and a cleaner, more convenient place you will not find. We had a GREAT night's stay and met a lot of terrific people; guests and staff alike.

Great start to our Sri Lanka experience
Had a marvellous few days at the Cassandra Culture Resort at the start of our holiday. The rooms were large, clean and well equipped; the pool was a highlight; the staff were welcoming and efficient; and the food was good. It is also a good base for trips to Lion Rock and Kaudulla nature reserve, amongst others. We were sorry not to have booked longer.
