Premium price for an average place
This was our honeymoon stay. We’ve booked a junior suite, Room 8, for almost a $1,000 per night. This place is clean and acceptable; however, it is not worth a $1,000 a night. We had to walk in the dark as the lights worked on a timer and you needed to press the button for the lights to turn on. We were unable to use the jacuzzi at night as there were a lot of noises coming from the bushes and night and the poor lighting made it very difficult to see what was around. As I said, we paid premium price for an average stay. The view is great tho. Just be prepared to make your own arrangements for parking and be prepared to walk so many stairs as this property is located at a lower level and you will need to walk down the stairs, and up, to go in and out.

Forever in love with villa Santa Maria
Morning to evening staff Francesca was absolutely wonderful. Arranged drivers for us knew local restaurants and helped us from check in to check out. Night staff Angelo is an amazing cook and absolute sweetheart. Would return to this glorious resort in a heart beat.

Villa Santa Maria is an amazing property with amazing staff. From the minute we got there, the staff was attentive to our every need. We were welcomed with a glass of wine, shown the amenities, and our bags were waiting in our room when we walked upstairs. Francesca and her staff are beyond 5 stars.

Beautiful views. room was spacious, we did have issues adjusting the AC and the internet would not work in our room. breakfast was good. Warning to anyone visiting, there are a LOT of stairs to get to the villa. The staff are available to help with carrying luggage but beware the stairs. it isn't located in Almalfi, so you need a taxi/bus to get to and from, but their is a bus stop in front of the hotel.

This was an amazing stay for me and my husband! The place was absolutely beautiful, with a sauna, free breakfast overlooking the most amazing ocean view, huge rooms, and a quick little walk that takes you to three private locations on the water, with the last one leading you to a little private cove and beach you can swim to. Truly the best stay we have had in all of Italy. The service was 11/10, with Francesca, Angelo, Gerardo, and the other amazing staff who all made our stay perfect! We would recommend this place to everyone we know based on service alone!

We absolutely loved this villa. The staff was extremely helpful in every aspect. The views were unreal. The location was convenient as it was on the bus route, and water taxis were available to pick you up from the property. Francesca (property manager) assisted us with directions, tickets, reservations, and so much more. We will definitely be back to this property!

This property is notable for its access to the ocean with lounge chairs near the water. Many partying boats were anchored right off our resort with people enjoying the water and sun. Very nice. Many many stairs but that is the price to get up and down the cliff. Otherwise a pretty basic property, with limited food options (although a nice breakfast) and standard rooms.

Best hotel in amalfi coast
No words to describe this amazing hotel. I am a traveler and I can say that from 70 countries, this place is in my top 3 best hotel views ever. Super calm, the vibe and energy are just incredible! The owner, Ms Francesca is the sweetest owner I’ve ever met! It is a must if you are around the area! I can keep writing but no need. And yes, I read from other guests that there are many stairs.. it is true but what do you expect? Elevator in a cliff…? It is worth it.

Gorgeous stay tucked into the coastline. Be prepared for stairs down to the hotel and beach, but well worth the extra workout. The private beach area was empty every time we went for a morning swim and was breathtaking. Breakfast on the patio was a beautiful touch and start to the day.

A huge plus for the hotel staff called us in advance to see if we needed a driver to get from the train station to the villa! 5-star rating all-around! Staff assisted carrying our luggage from the street to the villa. While there were plenty of steps to get down to the villa, it was quite worth it -- great sea view, and a great secluded spot. We had a suite, and was just the right amount of what we needed: spacious bed for two, clean bathroom, patio, and entryway. Staff was on-the-spot to clean our suite DURING the complementary breakfast: they would be done cleaning in about 15-20 minutes. Location is about a 40 minute walk to Amalfi main area. Enjoy the views while walking!

Christina was an amazing host and so welcoming. Her staff is beyond accommodating and really make you feel cared about. This is beyond just a hotel. It feels more like a bed and breakfast as far as taking care of their guests. The location is stunning and private beach is a must. I highly recommend this place. Tip: plan out your transportation prior to visiting.... and don’t drive a car in amalfi! It’s quite the nightmare. Christina can help you figure out the bus or she has her own driver that will not rip you off like the local taxis do.

Beautiful Italian Country House near Amalfi!
I highly recommend Villa Santa Maria for it's location, attention to detail, grounds and service! From the minute we arrived through check out the front desk helped us with anything and everything we needed; they made us feel as if we were the only guests. The views and grounds are breathtaking. There are private trails, a private beach, hot tub and sauna, as well as a number of terraces to relax on, enjoy a book or have an afternoon snack/ drink. The rooms are well kept, with stunning views of the Amalfi Coast and you can't beat the value of this beautiful property.

Nice private beach area
Our stay at this place was not terrible by any means. The staff was great, and the porter was excellent. There are Only two things that I didn't like about this place. The first is that there are way too many steps that you have to take to get to the resort. I counted 156 from the street to the reception desk. Over 300 additional steps from the reception desk to the water. Also the room wasn't what we expected from the pictures. It was right beside the check in area, and not as private as it seems from the pictures. I wouldn't stay here again personally, but don't let that take away from future business. It was a really nice resort, but just a hassle to get around.

We are sorry to hear the complaints about the steps because on the listing and on our website it is specified how many steps there are to arrive at the reception, and also the day you booked the room, we sent email through Expedia where we specified the number of steps and that we did not have parking. Regarding the room, you have booked a deluxe double room and we have assigned you one of the 2 deluxe rooms that we have that is close to the reception with has a small outdoor area just for you with a view of the garden and the sea. Secluded hotel to relax
The hotel was a great place to end our honeymoon. It was about a mile from the center of Amalfi, so away from all the action, but close enough to get to on a short bus/cab trip. It was secluded and quiet, great for relaxing. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The private "beach" was nice to to have our own place to lay in the sun and get in the water away from the general public.

Secluded villa perfect for relaxation
Perfect Perfect Perfect. After 5 days sightseeing in Rome and Pompeii, this place was perfect for relaxing. We started with complimentary drinks by the sun lounge with panoramic views of Amalfi Coast. Then we went to our private beach with towels, showers, lounge chairs all provided. We finished the day with a boat ride to the best restaurant called Da Teresa. The next day we had buffet breakfast on the terrace. A porter helped us with our luggage up the 140 steps to our car. Yes there are 140 steps to the villa and 300 steps to the beach and boat ramp but this information is all provided to you prior to your booking and should not be a surprise to anyone who decides to stay here. The steps are worth the view. Yes it is secluded and not near the city centre but that is why it is a luxury. Our last hotel was full of young drinks so we were so happy to be in a quiet place. Thank you to the exceptional staff for the best place I have ever stayed.

Lovely hotel but beware there are a lot of steps. If you're driving to it, parking is only on the road and you are in danger of having your car clipped.

Amalfi coast gem
Great place for a quiet and secluded stay on the busy Amalfi coast. Difficult to find with lots of steps down and up but once there, it's beautiful. Especially the " beach" direct on the water for great swimming and boat pick ups to go to waterfront restaurants. A great alternative to a larger hotel stay.

Pure peaceful rest
Our stay was amazing. When we got there someone was ready to carry our bags down to the hotel. Then we were greeted with a refreshing drink and snack. After checking in it was now after 3 PM so the local kitchens where closed till 7pm. Luisa made us a fabulous caprese salad and served it with two glasses of wine. It put us right into the vacation mode. The resort is very peaceful and the staff are extremely attentive to your needs. We went there to get away from all of the heavy tourist areas and just rest and this place delivered. If you do not like stairs to the street or water then this place is not for you. All the tourist buses were going into town which is a short walk down the road but we did not bother.

Amalfi Coast + Santa Maria Villa = Stunning
So the Santa Maria was in a great spot. Not too close to Amalfi - to be bothered by traffic and city noise - and the views were fantastic. Cute, quaint little room that was just enough for two people on their Honeymoon. The ONLY major draw back -- the amount of stairs. Not just to get from street level to the lobby, but even to the hot tub / sauna / coast line. Probably just a nature of the location, but definitely took us by surprise. MAKE CERTAIN you can handle walking and alot of stairs. If you can, this place was great. The service / staff were great and informative. Also, two little restaurants were right up the street so didn't have to venture too far to get a good meal. Ah... and forgot to mention, yes, the stairs were intense but there was a "bell hop" who grabbed our bags and brought them down and up when we arrived and when we left (he even parked our rental car in a safe spot too!). TIP THAT MAN. They say don't tip in Italy, but he handled two 50lb+ bags on 75+ steps like they were grocery bags. Awesome.

Had a brilliant time staying at this hotel, about 2 miles outside of the centre of Amalfi. Luisa, the hotel manager, was great and gave us great tips on places to go, where to eat, bus times etc - she really made a difference in our stay. The hotel itself is in a great location, a bus stop right outside and Amalfi well within walking distance. Not suitable for the immobile as there are many stairs to climb. Would definitely stay again

The hotel is in fact a country house. You feel like home and the staff is incredible friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet and charming place and very close to Amalfi as well look no more. I think it would be perfect for a honeymoon. Rent a small car better convertible and you are close to incredible locations and other small cities like Positano, Ravello, etc.

Great hotel but location a little remote
The hotel is far from amalfi. If you stay here I definitely recommend a car. We parked along the side of the road. There are many steps down to the hotel so if you have difficulty with steps I wouldn't advise staying here. There was a porter who brought our bags down when we checked in and carried everything up when we left. We could not have done without him. Our room was extremely small but it was clean. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful we walked down to the little deck and had a swim. The water is crystal clear. Again many steps down to the water!! The views are breathtaking. Breakfast was ok croissants and coffee, cheese, fruit etc. Hotel staff was nice. I probably wouldn't stay here again because of its location but if you want somewhere quiet and relaxing this is it.

Amazing views, great staff, clean newly renovated rooms. The location is about a 20 minute walk to Amalfi. There is also easy bus and taxi service available. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They serve a great breakfast with a large variety of foods. Very happy with our stay.

This is a secluded guest house with beautiful and scenic surroundings and access to a private beach. Access is via a long staircase great for exercising but not suited for everybody. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The staff are friendly and attentive during the day but non existent after 6pm if you need anything. Breakfast was a delight. Town centre was around 35 mins along the coast or 10 mins by bus from right outside the guest house. Overall a nice place to stay.

Fantastic vacation at Villa Santa Maria and wonderful hospitality by Franscesa. Clean but small rooms, which suited us perfect as we were enjoying the outdoors from morning to late evening. The dock and sun beds at the sea was amazing. We used water taxi to travel around the coast and could be picked up directly at the hotel. We also stayed many hours in the sun beds, enjoying the access to the Mediterranean. Highly recommended for couples traveling to enjoy Amalfi with surroundings.

Che dire, soggiorno stupendo. Il posto è incantevole, appartato e silenzioso con una vista da sogno. Assolutamente da ripetere. La signora Assunta e il suo staff sono stati meravigliosi. Molto accorti e disponibilissimi per qualsiasi evenienza. Amalfi si raggiunge con 5 minuti di macchina. Tutto fantastico.

No apto para personas con movilidad reducida.
La verdad es que el hotel es muy bonito, el lugar es privilegiado. El problema fue llegar y descubrir que para acceder al hotel hay una escalinata de más de 150 escalones, es decir unos ocho pisos de un edificio. Al estar mi mujer embarazada estas escaleras resultaban un verdadero obstáculo y esfuerzo. Al plantear el inconveniente nos dijeron que no podían hacer nada al respecto. Revisé el anuncio en la web y no encontré ninguna advertencia sobre esto. Considero que deberían avisarlo antes.

מקום מדהים. שקט ורגוע בין העיירות המתוירות של אמלפי ופוזיטנו. נוף מושלם וחוף פרטי. ג'קוזי מול נוף מדהים. מנהלת המלון נותנת שירות מצוין והמלצות מצוינות לטיולים ואוכל בכל רמות המחירים. יש הרבה מדרגות לחוף וביציאה מהמלון אבל הם קטנות והדבר לא משמעותי ביחס לשאר הדברים הטובים. תמורה מצוינת למחיר. מקום חלומי. רק רוצים לחזור.

הרבה מאד מדרגות עד שמגיעים למלון
מלון יפה, נוף מדהים, שירות מעולה, חדר אוכל מאד מסודר. חדר נקי. אבל.. כאשר מגיעים למלון זה כמו מעצר בית לאור הצורך בירידה ועליה של 175 מדרגות ממפלס הכביש ועד למלון. אין מעלית במלון

Fantastisk service från personalen. Underbart läge med en otrolig utsikt och härliga terasser. Bl.a. fick vi skjuts till byn av ägaren. Längtar tillbaka!
