I liked this place but like everyone else who is trying to save a buck in this economy, they overlook the little things. The window was very dirty. The air conditioning units look and sound like they came out of the 90's, it sounded like a truck driving by every time the compressor kicked on. The escutcheon in the shower was not attached to the wall and wobly when showering, but the hot water was very satisfying. I dont understand why the bathroom door swings into the bathroom. It makes it really awkward to come into the bathroom and actually try to shut the door. If you are seated on the toilet, the door swings in and hits your knees. You practically have to be in the tub in order to be able fully open or close the door unimpeded, which was awkward. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The ambiance in the public areas was pleasant. The location was absolutely perfect and we had a decent view of the Golden Gate Bridge which was a pleasant surprise. public transit was right outside the hotel. The breakfast was well laid out and well staffed, it was clean and efficient, but the eggs were watery both days of our stay which made it was pretty clear that they use dehydrated egg powder instead of fresh eggs and the potato option was cold both days as well. Breakfast was available from 630 to 1030 and we had breakfast at the 730 hour both mornings for reference. I enjoyed the fresh fruit and bread bars while the bacon and sausage links were decent.

Immaculate condition, loved the cooking facilities in room

The hotel is older but everything was clean and lobby area very nice. Great security. Front doors are always locked, and some one at front desk 24 hours. Staff was very nice and check in and check out very fast. We were given a cute bag at check in with a bottle of wine, water and snacks. Thought the hotel was walking distance to SF giants stadium but at night sketchy. Took lyft and it was 12.00. We had double deluxe room, very small room, my son is 6’2 so bed was small. I thought bed was comfy only the pillows were not comfortable. Union square and lots of shopping within walking distance. Would definitely stay again if only 2 of us in the room. Room way to small for more then 2 guests. We stayed to attend game so basically just slept at hotel and it worked out ok

Only one mirror in room - in bathroom. Restaurant had inconvenient hours. Front desk staff not friendly.

Finally checked this one off of the bucket list. Wanted to stay at the Fairmont since I was in Law School 35 years ago. Finally made it back. The Family loved it. Steeped in History. Spend some time in the hallway looking at the photos and letters from past presidents and the world leaders. Super cool place and gorgeous. Divine bed. . . slept like a baby.
