Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights stay. The staff was extremely professional and nice. They arranged taxi and tuk tuk rides. Their breakfast was a great way to start our mornings. Highly recommended and would stay there again.

An excellent place to stay in Ortegia. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The hotel staff was outstanding...professional, kind, and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the lady keeping it stocked was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Thought it was fab. We were there off-season (Nov. 25) but still liked our stay. I even went for a swim at the bottom of the staircase leading down to the water a block from the hotel. We stayed in Room 9 which has an attached balcony with water views. Fantastic.

Lanterne Magiche Ortigia is located at the heart of Ortigia's historical center, close to two beaches, and many excellent restaurants. It is clean, well maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Ortigia
A fabulous hotel in the center of beautiful Ortigia. We had a lovely room with a terrace view of the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. Their recommendations for restaurants were outstanding. We loved the food at Clandestino and aLevante—truly works of art & taste.

The staff was very helpful, nice and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable. The location is very central. Parking was available but driving in Agrigento like in all the Sicilian cities was a challenge. The value was very good for the money spent.

Large, comfortable rooms. Wonderful breakfast. Perfect location. The hosts/staff are just absolutely impeccable!! Okay, lets get down to it. Ortigia is an amazing place to visit. Laterne Magiche is located on a gorgeous, quiet pedestrian street. It is just one block over from some magnificent cafes and restaurants. Ask your hosts about them, they will not steer you wrong. When there are lines of locals waiting to eat, then you know it's good. The island is very walkable and the hotel is perfectly situated. If you are visiting Siracusa, this is the place to stay!!

This hotel is beautiful and has been carefully restored. We did not have great weather however we still walked around the whole island and saw the sights as it is compact.

I thought I had reviewed this property already… it is absolutely wonderful. I had two rooms, which I was not expecting, including a kitchenette which was very useful for take out and a little cooking. I did not have to eat out at every meal. The staff is welcoming and helpful. I recommend it highly!

Wonderful accommodations!
Beautifully restored ancient home. Spacious apartment. Fully equipped. Sorry we were there for only two nights. Easy walking distance to all of Ortigia. Quiet. Quality. Great staff.

Adequate, but not for long stay.
Site says valet parking. NOT. park yourself for €15 a day. Hotel difficult to find in pouring down rain. Domenico was great, though. Helped us w parking. Room was 2 story. Kitchen did not have any knives and really not equipped for cooking other than reheating in microwave and able to fix our own breakfast. Location is good. WiFi is not good. Probably worth the price to get a 5 Star in Ortigia.

With a warm welcome from Danilo and previous excellent e-mail correspondence with manger Domenico our stay got off to a super start. The hotel is well positioned and very modern and clean. Our room ( apartment ) #3 was spacious and had a large terrace. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom although small was great for our stay. It's a short walk from here to all of the famous sites of Ortigia and Siracusa, the train station is convenient and takes you further afield - we chose Noto. Restaurants locally are superb and with the small well stocked (payable) mini-bar your stay is complete (Wine, water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, juice etc) We choose not to include breakfast as the Expedia website indicated with a picture a breakfast area, available at extra cost. We anticipated this being a buffet style at a time to suit. In fact breakfast is pre-ordered and delivered to your room. As we were do not like to be held to time, we cancelled this after day 1. (The cost for two was 30 Euros.) This was a minor concern and was easily rectified by the team at the hotel. This is jewel in Ortigia! We will use Allegroitalia again when we return - and we will! The best part of the experience at the hotel - Danilo and Domenico, so warm and friendly; nothing is too much trouble.

This is a fairly new hotel in an old building. The decor is nice, with an impressive kitchen in this two-floor apartment-type room. It was clean, except for some grit on the floor, which was annoying because I t wear shoes inside. It was probably sand, because the hotel is very close to the water. It is within easy walking distance of the center of town and the Hop on Hop off bus stop, which is cheap, so getting around is easy from here. The staff recommended some very good restaurants nearby. Be sure to have the staff send you detailed instructions on where to park your car. There is a very inexpensive parking arcade a mile or so away. It was hard for me to find and it was raining when I got there, so our visit got off to a rocky start, but soon all was well and we had a lovely stay there.

Perfect place to see Syracuse!
Our party of two couples was so happy with our spacious and perfectly appointed sea view rooms. Gabriella and Domenico were welcoming and very helpful in giving us directions to the sights and recommending good restaurants in Ortigia. The beds were very, very comfortable and, as the whole place has been recently renovated to a high standard, everything was clean and new. We had breakfast there and a drink at the bar in the evening - all very nice. We could walk everywhere on Ortigia and caught a bus to see the Greek theatre and other archeological sites. Thoroughly recommend this place, especially if you can get a good deal on Expedia!
