Hi Patricia, We are not cheap and have never been. The house was brand new when we started renting it, we strived to keep it very clean and everyting functioning well by doing constant maintenance. Now it's time for a full bathroom remodel so replacing just a shower head and keeping the rest is not what we plan to do. The shower fixtures we aim to replace are much more than some upgraded shower heads. As far as storage for your groceries - it is indeed a tough one. The house has only one pantry and the amount of supplies we offer needs space. We strive to make sure guests don't need to buy any detergents, paper supplies, even spices - not to mention the amount of cleaning supplies that we use in order to keep the house in mint condition as you found it. We would have gladly leave some cabinets empty but that would have cut into not having a fully equipped kitchen where no appliance is missing. We wanted to make sure we even have a coffee grinder and anything someone would need to cook for Thanksgiving or new Year's dinner. We could perhaps build some cabinets in the garage but that would prevent larger trucks from parking there. We'll keep thinking on how to come up with more storage space for food which was never a problem so far with short term stays we hosted at this house. I am very happy that you enjoyed the heated pool and spa, we keep that pool equipment in top shape to make sure vacations are relaxing and enjoyable. You've been wonderful guests and very clean and we very much enjoyed having you as our guests. Dear Javier, We could have surely helped you install Spotify if you did not know how. You just had to let us know. Anyway, Spotify is there now. Guests have the option to install their music streaming app themselves or ask for our help. So happy that you enjoyed your stay at the house. Dear Hope, It is important to clarify for future guests that pools heated with a gas heater can not have the heater turned on 24 hours/day as the cost of gas can be anywhere from 5-8 dollars/hour. But being a gas heater it will heat the pool in a matter of hours and not days as an electrical heater would do. It is also important to know that having a spa attached to the pool with a spill over the pool also prevents you from keeping the pool covered with a solar cover which helps to keep the pool warmer. So with a laguna shape pool with a spillover from the spa attached to it and no ability to keep it covered at night, the best option was to use a fast gas heater that will heat them both. We do ask the guests to turn the heater OFF when not in use for obvious reason and we do include all this heating in the rental rate. Dear Jim, I am very happy that you and your family members who stayed at the house had a great time during your stay. We advertise our vacation home as a five star villa for 14 years and work hard to maintain it at the five star level that we promised. We’ve had a lot of happy guests and guests with high expectations and standards so we must maintain it at that level. Walking with shoes all over the house would quickly drop the level to a 2-3 star level and this is not what we want to offer to our renters. We offer seating in the kitchen for 10 guests while Arizona’s law allows an occupancy of only 2 guests per bedroom so a maximum of 8 guests for our vacation home. Having another 8 seats black tie table in the dining room in addition to that is just a bonus and abundance that we feel proud to offer to our guests. Our pool and spa are heated with a brand new gas heater which heats up the pool in a matter of hours and the spa in 1-1.5 hours during the cold season. A gas heater is expensive (could be 5-8 dollars/hour), we always included it in the rental rate and never charged anyone additional money. We merely ask to not be negligent and leave the heater ON overnight or when swimming is not needed. So far everybody enjoyed it very much as you can see from all the other reviews. I will take this opportunity to inform you and other future renters that Arizona’s senate is imposing more and more restrictions on vacation rentals due to neighbors' complaints. Bills have been introduced in Arizona where we can get fines of up to $1500 for noise and nuisance if there is a complaint. After two or three complaints we can lose our business license. This is why our rental agreement that everybody signs states that there should be no noise after 10 PM to disturb the neighbors. You need to understand that our homes are located in residential areas and our neighbors are not on vacation. Our renters must obey the same HOA CC&R rules as any other resident. I apologize that I can’t offer a vacation homes with no neighbors around. A house like this would be hard to find and also would be far away from shops, restaurants and places to visit.
