Absolutely Perfect
We had a perfect stay on this property. We traveled with our two older children, and everyone had their own space. The property was adorable! We were a five minute walk to the nearest bus stop and no more than 10 minutes to the tube station. There is a local pub right up the street. Great late night stop on the way back from a day exploring the city. The host was very attentive to any questions that we had.

Most beautiful home
This really felt like home! It was conveniently close/far from London's mess and its attractions. It is so beautifully furnished and there's some really interesting art on the walls. Super sunny and very welcoming.

historic stay with some quirks
The house itself was amazing. There were some quirks about the shower/tub or bedding that we needed to get used to but we loved and expected those quirks. The host was not as easy to contact beforehand but attentive during our stay. There was NOT a dryer on property, which had been listed and expected by us. It was also a bit "interesting" having the friend of the host live in the ground floor apartment as we did not have a way to keep them from coming into "our" space. While we had no problems with this, if we were a different family it might have been more of an issue. It WAS very closely located to all of the public transit we used. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Thank you for your nice review but I would like to reassure you and any other guests that the apartment is entirely self contained. Only me the owner and you, the guests have access to your space. There is a ground floor flat that has its own street access.

Lovely Stay for our Family
We had a wonderful stay in this Vauxhall property - it was spacious for our family of four, and so unique with interesting architectural details and lots of nooks and crannies to explore around the flat. It was perfectly situated for all of our explorations around London, with easy access to the underground and buses. We loved the nearby pubs and playground, as well as the city farm and park. Amanda was responsive to questions and a great host. Highly recommend!

Best place to stay in London
Amanda’s place is spacious, light filled and has beautiful architectural details like all the wood finishing and stain glass ! It is really a charming place to spend time ! We loved the neighborhood - tea theatre cafe was great for breakfast and afternoon tea ! Walkable to Westminster and many other locations as well as close proximity to Vauxhall tube. Great Location
Great location. Lots of steps so keep that in mind. It does need a deep clean as there is dust everywhere where there shouldn't be dust. It doesn't take away from a nice stay at a nice property. Just need owner to use the cleaning fee renters pay to provide a cleaner property. Anyone with allergies would suffer.

Great location, communicative host
Two friends and I stayed here after not agreeing on any suitable hotels with 3 beds. This flat was so perfect. Large, airy, lots of natural light with beautiful stained glass and wooden details. We asked early on if we could pop by early to drop luggage and Amanda was more than accommodating. We met her friend who was checking out of the flat around 11 am. We learned that Amanda’s son lived in the flat next door which is connected via a door in the entry way. We heard TV and conversations occasionally and weren’t sure if he could enter “our” side or not. The lofted beds were cozy as well as the main level couches. The blue futon in one room was absolutely unbearable though with a metal rod that made it so uncomfortable. Luckily with 3 of us we had options and played musical beds to find our best fits. The kitchen was well stocked with cleaning supplies and other odds and ends. We found extra fans and a hair dryer easily in the bedrooms. The bathroom was lovely with great water pressure and very hot water. The heated towel rack was much appreciated as well! The location was perfect for us. We wanted to ensure an accessible tube station with luggage and Vauxhall was a train/ bus/ tube station less than a 5 minute walk. On the way is a lovely petting zoo farm as well. We also ate twice at the food hall beside the station with great variety for all of us. Thank you, Amanda! We hope to be back soon!

Charming vintage flat
We enjoyed our stay last summer in this unique flat. My three teens had plenty of room to spread out and everyone got their own space. Very comfortable beds! Close to metro station and a nice park across the street.

I chose Amanda’s place as it’s quirkiness appealed to me, small loft rooms and spiralling stairs in a more traditional building. It did not disappoint. The location really was the best part however, 200 m across a park to the tube, similar to shops, restaurants and a pub. An easy 30min walk to the London Eye, Parliament and Big Ben. Excellent! Property itself was quiet and very comfortable with good beds. Only issue was the shower is fixed and a bit low for my 6ft 3 son. We loved the stairs but if mobility was a problem I wouldn’t recommend it. Loved our time there.

Wonderful Family Trip Location!

Efforless stay

Tons of character
The apartment is great with a ton of historic character. There are some adjustments that come with things like a Victorian toilet, but they’re well worth it. The old cast iron tub is the best you’ll ever take, even if the shower is a bit challenging. Overall a great place to stay.

We had a great stay, great location - kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and all was described in the listing. It was very hot in London when we stayed there so the property was very warm without air conditioning.

Perfect spot for my family of 6!
We had a wonderful stay in London! This flat was great for my family of 6 (2 parents and 4 kids ages 10-18). Great location - close to bus and tube, close to grocery store, close to green space to run off some energy, close to places to get coffee. I will say that if you have any hesitation about stairs this would not be a great place for you. There are lots of stairs, even going up to the "master" loft bed. Was not a problem at all for us, but just be knowledgable of that. Communication and set up with the owner was great. The whole process was super easy!

Lovely London stay with teens
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. We found it super charming, with lovely stained glass and great character. The lofted sleeping spaces worked well for our family with three teens. We also loved walking through Vauxhall Gardens in our coming/going. It is located close to the Vauxhall underground/bus, which made getting around London a breeze. The living room area, which provided a nice space for visiting.

Fabulous week in London at a great value
This very quaint apartment was very spacious and very well located to access all major attractions and areas of London, including Westminster and Big Ben by a very short and scenic walk over the Vauxhall Bridge and along the river. Vauxhall is a dynamic area that is being transformed with new buildings and condominiums and apartments, but this apartment retains the charm of years past and is a simple walk across a small local park to the tube station, from which you can access all of London in very short order. All in all it was a great value for the price and we would use it again next time we travel to London.

Vauxhaul holiday
We loved the unique layout of the property. Plenty of room to spread out. And the small outdoor patio was a perfect spot for a few pints before heading out for the evening. Also, proximity to the Victoria Line at Vauxhaul station made getting around London a breeze.

Spacious apartment good for families on a budget in London
If you're traveling as a family, Amanda's place is a good value. It's clean and spacious and near the tube station. It's a bit dated, but for the price, it's a good value. If you're looking for something quaint and a bit quirky, you'll enjoy this place.

Lovely apartment, central location!
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Location is great, close to the Vauxhall tube station, so there is easy acces to central London and clos to the Thames. Nice park and city farm close by. Apartment is charming and sleeping arrangements interesting with loft beds. Lots of stairs, so wouldn’t be accessible for everyone. It worked out perfectly for us and our 2 adult children. We would definitely stay here again. Our daughter lives in London, so we’ll be back!!

Charming, unique, and fun.
My daughter celebrated receiving her Masters Degree in Criminology at the Parliment building, Westminster Central Hall. We chose this lovely flat so we could walk there an back. We only had 3 days to take care all her school needs before the ceremony, so we did not get a chance to enjoy it long enough before we flew back to California. The flat is very unique, with all the wood and stain glass windows, and the little balcony was great. The tube is close so we could get to where ever we needed to go. And we were able to walk to and from the ceremony.

A charming older flat..
This flat was indeed unique and had an old charm to it. We didn’t mind the section of town it was in either.. However, we weren’t thrilled to enter a front door that the bottom floor tennnt might perhaps also have the key to, as the flat was open from that point on, with no way to lock a door behind once in the living space. The other challenge for us were the platform style beds and lack of closet space. In one room bed in particular, a bar was clearly felt while sleeping on the flatform mattress and no closet was present. Our clothes remained in suitcases, for the most part. The bath was pleasant and the etched glass and open doors to a small outdoor landing was neat. The neighborhood seemed safe and was fairly quiet. There is also a terrific little restaurant called the Black Dog which can be gotten to with a short walk through the park across from the flat. Unfortunately, after 5 nights we chose to move to a different flat because of ultimately the sleeping arrangement related to the mattresses.

Gemütliches Stadtdomizil mit kleinen Mängeln
Wir (Familie mit zwei größeren Kindern) waren für 10 Tage im Objekt und haben unseren Urlaub dort genossen. Das Reihenhaus ist sehr geschmackvoll (viele Glasobjekte, einige Antiquitäten) eingerichtet und man fühlt sich dort wohl. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir die gute Verkehrsanbindung (in ca. 5 Minuten ist man an der U-Bahn-Haltestelle Vauxhall, wo auch viele Busse abfahren; in ca. 12 Minuten ist man an der U-Bahn-Haltestelle Oval, wo die Northern Line durchfährt). Die Gegend um das Haus herum ist ebenfalls ok; die direkt in der Nachbarschaft angrenzende City-Farm lässt sich als Streichelzoo mit angeschlossenem Cafe verstehen. Besonders lobenswert ist der ganz in der Nähe befindliche Pub "Black Dog", wo man gut zu Abend essen (und natürlich auch ein Bier trinken) kann (Kinder sind ab 19.30h dort jedoch nicht mehr zugelassen). Es gibt allerdings auch ein paar Dinge, die man verbessern könnte: die Couch im Wohnzimmer, die auf vielen Bildern zu sehen ist, ist mittlerweile sehr abgewohnt/durchgesessen und sollte ersetzt werden. Die Stühle im Esszimmer waren sehr unbequem und zum Teil auch schon älter. Im ganzen Haus gibt es keine Kleiderhaken, im Bad keinen Stromanschluss und kaum Abstellfläche. Und auch die Bett-Situation war nicht optimal: nur das Doppelbett hatte eine einigermaßen ordentliche Matratze; die beiden Kinderbetten waren sehr weich (das schmale Bett oben im "Verschlag") bzw. sehr hart (das breitere Futonbett am Boden). Und was bislang noch keiner erwähnt hat: das Haus liegt in der Haupteinflugschneise von Heathrow, so dass an vielen Abenden die Flugzeuge im Abstand von wenigen Minuten über das Gebiet fliegen. Dies ist interessant, allerdings auch mit Fluglärm verbunden (nachts ist Ruhe, da Flugverbot). Die Abwicklung mit der Vermieterin war freundlich und korrekt, aber unpersönlich (Schlüssel- und Hausübergabe erfolgte ohne persönliche Mitwirkung der Vermieterin oder einer Kontaktperson). Da wir uns aber wie gesagt im Haus wohl gefühlt haben, insgesamt noch 4 Sterne.

Amazing flat!

Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) loved staying here. Amanda's place is full of charm, character and natural light. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great. A few good pubs and restaurants are near by as well as a park, community garden and city farm. A great location for exploring the city. It was perfect for our family and we would absolutely stay again!

We (couple with two tween kids and our former au pair and her boyfriend) loved this place!
Not for older people since it is multi-level with lots of stairs, but we loved it, as did the kids. It is a fun funky but comfortable place with nice stained glass and a porch to sit on in the back. Very close to metro so easy to get around to all the sites or go for a run or walk by the river. There is an urban farm almost right next door and also a park and good restaurants for kids including a hamburger place, pub and a tea room with good pastries. We had a perfect stay here!

Full of charm in a great location
I fell in love with this house immediately. It is full of charm and so unique. Everywhere you look there is reclaimed wood, stained glass, and interesting features you won’t find in a modern home. There are a lot of stairs so be ready to get your daily steps in. One commenter mentioned that this home would not be good for older folks. They may be true if you have bad knees or hips. The master bed is in a little loft at the top of a set of little steps. However, it was very comfortable and we kept the window open right next to the bed to feel the breeze. The guest bedroom was perfect for our two boys. There are two beds, one is a futon style mattress on slats. The other is a regular mattress in a little loft, again, at the top of a little set of stairs. My kids found it adorable. The location is excellent. It is directly across the street from Vauxhall Gardens which is a nice little park with a great play ground for kids. It is right next door it a City Farm which made fresh ice cream but we were so busy we never got to enjoy the city farm. Just on the other side of the playground is an adorable tea house where we had breakfast and tea. It was a perfect English tea experience. It is a very easy, 7 minute walk to the Vauxhall tube station. From there you can easily access all the sights in the city. It is also walkable to Westminster and Parlament. We wandered around the Westminster area then decided to walk over the bridge instead of taking the tube. We were home in no time and it’s a lovely walk. Amanda was so easy to work with and extremely accommodating. I would rent this house again in a heart beat.
