The hotel is close to the Nishiki market and with it many food options. The hotel staff were friendly and there was a wall of tourist information (where to go, how to get there and some context for the destination). The keycard could be put in a lanyard provided for safe keeping and loungewear/towels were provided daily. The showers were clean and come with body wash and shampoo only.

Perfect location. 10-15 minute walk to Gion and right beside Nishiki Market. Very clean and tidy. Pocket seems a very apt description for the small room but that's all you need when you're out exploring Kyoto all day!

As a solo female traveller, this accomodation was excellent. This hotel is located just a few steps from the Nishiki market and is very walkable to nearby shops and the metro. The amenities were great for the price and the staff was incredibly helpful with any questions I had. They also will hold your luggage/bags before and after checkout if needed. I felt safe and comfortable here. If I were to travel solo and if i had a tight budget again, I would choose the Pocket Hotel in Kyoto.

Kyoto's Kitchen, Nishiki Market, is just a short walk away. You can go to popular sightseeing spots from the nearest bus stop without changing trains. Keihan Railway, Hankyu Railway, and the subway are all within walking distance, and our hotel is located in the busiest area of Kyoto. There are also many restaurants and department stores nearby. Very convenient to shops, food and places to visit. It's more like a hostel. The room was small but good for just sleeping. SeeThe train station exit was very close to it, but the exit is actually quite far to the platform.

Dont recommend
Very disappointing experience. The staff at the check-in didnt inform about the fees they are gonna charge us, also the rooms are extremely small (actually it is just a bed, nothing else) and in the rooms you can hear everything from other people.

I really loved this spot! It was close to a lot of stuff or in easy walking distance. I think the room was perfect for a solo traveler and as a solo female traveler I felt safe in the hotel and area!
