Quiet Home in Harrisonburg with Spectacular Shenandoah Valley Views.

This home is located on a hill and has a stunning view of the Shenandoah Valley. The large front porch offers a relaxed setting for conversation, eating, watching the clouds, or reading great books. The interior is light, airy, and spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped with tableware, dishes, pots and pans. Fair-trade coffee, tea, and sugar are provided. There is parking space for three cars in the driveway. In addition to the spectacular view, the home offers quick and easy access to EMU and JMU in minutes. There are grocery stores conveniently located near-by and delicious food within walking distance, including Bowl of Good and La Morena's. The Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the George Washington National Forest to the the west. Both areas are renown for skiing, hiking and biking trails, and dramatic foliage in the fall. We are also about fifteen miles from Massanuttan Ski Resort and Water Park.
The area around Harrisonburg hosts a number of music festivals, including Red Wing Roots Festival, Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, and the Shenandoah Music Festival. The town has a quiet small town charm with impressive public parks and an Annual Chocolate Walk in addition to other festive events throughout the year. As an added bonus, area universities offer a wide range of cultural performances throughout the year. And the splendid American Shakespeare Blackfriars Playhouse is a mere thirty minutes away in Staunton, Virginia.
There is a separate apartment over the garage to our house where a friend of the family lives. Their apartment is separate from the house but they park in the garage sometimes so please avoid parking them in.

Quilting Retreat

We are all over 70 and love quilting. It was good to catch up with family and show off the quilts we’ve made. We had a Quilts Of Valor presentation to our cousin who served in the army. Such a great event. We really liked the house because there was just a step or two to get inside. It’s a great place to stay.

A beautiful house with all the things that we needed to make this a really wonderful family stay. The house was clean, and everything worked exactly as it was supposed to. The bathrooms were clean as were the bedrooms and every room The kitchen, everything worked well and we enjoyed the stay very much.

Nice home, beautiful view

This was a great house and we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view from the front porch. Downstairs is a big open kitchen and living area great for large groups. The host was very responsive and great to deal with. Good location in a nice location close to downtown and JMU. We will stay here again.

Highly recommend for family stay

This was a beautiful, large house with great amenities to accommodate our family of five with plus ones and an infant. We stayed as out of town guests in for a family wedding, and the house provided a perfect home base and perfectly suited us with several large bedrooms and tons of communal, comfy seating. What a gorgeous view of the mountains. Can't recommend enough!

Great Stay for Family Reunion

The view from this home is spectacular and it was a very special experience to sit on the porch for coffee and evening chats. The home was spacious, well-furnished, and set up with all the household items we needed - a perfect simplicity. Beds were comfortable. Hosts were responsive and very nice to work with. Reunion

Three old friends get together once a year to catch up while seeing new areas of the country. We met at Harrisonburg, Va this year and stayed in this Vrbo. The house was exactly as advertised: clean, comfortable, spacious and located in a quiet neighborhood convenient to all the amenities we were looking for. Golf Trip

Four of us old friends tried this place as the site for our annual golf get-together. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We all fit in easily. The house was clean and very well equipped. Another beautiful stay

This house is lovely, well-equipped and has beautiful views from the living room, front porch and two of the bedrooms out to the mountains. It is a great place for a family vacation or get-together. It is spacious with five bedrooms, and a number of other spaces for cozy chats, movie-watching, and meals together. This was our second stay in the house, and we hope for another. When a question came up, Mary was quick to respond with help and advice.

Recital Weekend

Family gathered at JMU from Pennsylvania and Virginia to attend our daughter’s senior recital. The home exceeded our expectations - it was absolutely perfect for our family. The first floor master bedroom was easily accessible to grandparents. It was very clean and roomy! Everything we needed was there! PLUS, the porch was amazing and so were the views!

The PERFECT Rental For JMU Families

We've stayed at this property 4 times now. It could not be more perfect for JMU families. Situated just a couple miles off campus in a quiet neighborhood offering a panoramic view of the mountains, this house is a gem. The house itself is in immaculate condition and offers ample space for larger groups. Mary, the owner, could not be more attentive and responsive to her tenants. It's simply the perfect location.
