This is a lovely house in the countryside. The beds are very comfortable. The pool is quite large, incredibly so for an indoor one. The kitchen is very well equipped (it even has heat lamps). The neighborhood is quiet farm country, but close to Sens for shopping or a little sightseeing.
The landlady speaks and writes only in French. There is a lengthy contract one must sign that is in French. We are in France of course, so this is fair! But I will say my intermediate level (B1) French didn’t feel adequate … I absolutely wouldn’t risk it if I didn’t speak any French (even with google translate). There are instruction books in the house in both French and English.
There is a huge selection of active games! Foosball, ping pong, etc. Great!
We found that the a/c was not up to the job. It wasn’t terribly hot when we arrived, but even so, our first night was uncomfortable. The air conditioning only works downstairs. All the bedrooms are upstairs and are not cooled by the a/c much. Although there are lovely big windows in 3 of the 4 bedrooms, there are no mosquito screens and I was quite bitten up the first night. And the fourth bedroom is in a separate building with no exterior windows at all, and no a/c.
Overall, this is a lovely house with a wonderful pool and most of the amenities one would want, but the lack of adequate cooling makes this a 3 season house in my opinion. If I were in the area I would consider renting it in the winter, but not again in the summer.
