古い街の合理的な宿

レセプションの場所と宿泊の場所が少し離れていて最初は戸惑いました。レセプションの場所の周囲を整備中だったので、も少しすれば、きれいになると思います。

wifi、テレビ、金庫、ドライヤーなど機器はそろっているが、全体的に清潔感に欠ける。とくにシャワーとカーペットがよくない。一方、従業員やフロントは、親切だし、朝ごはんも美味しい。

大学の寄宿舎の一部をホテルに利用した施設

エジンバラフェスティバルの期間だったのでどのホテルも大変高い。こんな寄宿舎を利用したホテルでもなんと1泊2万円。特に不快だったのは、昔の住宅公団の団地（この施設は鉄筋コンクリート造りではありません。木造です。）のように5階建てでエレベータなし。不幸にも4階（日本の5階）だったので都度疲れました。特に階段もせまいので、スーツケースの上げ下げはたいへん。朝食はオーダー方式のブッフェでまずます。

駅からは少し離れていて、学生寮の一部のような雰囲気。部屋は清潔だが、かなり簡素な雰囲気。朝食は満足だが、アクセスがイマイチ。大きな通りはすぐそばだが少しひっそりした雰囲気だった。

長期滞在にはとてもお勧め。

3泊しました。ホテルはひなびたビジネスホテルという感じで着いたときはがっかりします。が、朝食が豪華で美味しく（フルーツも沢山）バス停が近く、安いスーパーが何軒かあり便利でした。

簡素だが快適なホテル

以前に宿泊したときに比べて、若干の改築をしたようで、よりきれいになりました。受付の女性も親切ですし。何より朝食のサービスの女性がいろいろと気遣いのできる人で、とても感じがよく思いました。朝食もcocked breakfastとブッフェから適当に選ぶことができて、とてもよい一日のスタートになります。ひとつ難点を言えば、浴室の電気をつけるとファンがしばらく回り続けること、デスクランプが点かなかったことです。ただ、全般的にとても快適に過ごすことができました。

Not luxury, but clean, reasonable, and convenient.

It seems this hotel was a domitory of a university, so it's not a luxury hotel. But it's a clean and very conveniently located hotel with a reasonable price. Breakfast is also good. The only problem I could find is that it does not have a bath tab. Some reviews say there is no separation between the floor of the shower space and the floor of the toilet, and water comes out onto the floor of the toilet, but the floor is sloped, and it wasn't a serious problem for me at all. I recommend this hotel if you give proirity to cleanness and the reasonable price, not to luxury.

Overall was very pleased with our 2 night stay. The room was a bit too warm for us even although the window was open, so maybe the addition of a fan would be a consideration. Also the very excellent shower could have benefitted from a slightly deeper shower tray. The bathroom floor was a bit flooded and it if it hadn’t been for the shower mat, the consequences could have been worse. Saying that, the room was very clean, extremely well stocked with bathroom accessories , tea/coffee etc sachets, and the added extras within the main room itself. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a while. The staff were very nice and friendly. Thank you.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tea selection and biscuits in the room were great. Bed was comfortable. It can be a little noisy with the windows open but generally a quiet area and around the corner from many restaurants and shops.

Perhaps there are different rooms available however our room was very small which we knew but very little space for suitcase etc. Dorm room for university of Edinburgh. There was no AC had to leave window open and they provided a fan. It was not hot this week in Edinburgh; it would have be stifling in the summer. No circulation in building at all. No elevator; we had to go up three floors with luggage. Would be challenging with mobility issues. On the positive side, great location, good breakfast which was included, excellent front desk staff. I booked through Expedia so maybe we got a lower end room. Cost for two nights in May 2024 a whopping $530 CAD. Edinburgh is expensive.

Our stay was good. We had a few issues with our room but Emma the manager was fantastic! Super attentive and caring and sorted out our room issue super quickly. A bottle of Prosecco and ice bucket was left for us when we returned which was fabulous. The other staff were so friendly, I believe his name is Keith, (sorry if it’s not!!) Was so funny, informative about the local area and super helpful which was fab. My only real complaint is that the windows are super thin so the room can get quite cold at night and it’s very noisey on the front side of the building due to the local businesses, but that’s no fault of the hotel. Other than that, the location was amazing and the bed was super comfy. Thanks again Emma!

Edinburgh short stay.

The hotel had a very studenty vibe as I believe it is run by Edinburgh university and was once student accommodation. The rooms are small but perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh. The rooms are clean and have been recently decorated. The breakfast was an absolute bargain, nothing fancy but really nice and a good quality coffee machine included. Overall the value for money was amazing and had a great stay.

Some good and not-so-good things. The best thing about the KM hotel was the invariably cheerful and helpful service desk staff. If there were two of them talking, they immediately stopped and asked how to help me. They also had a very good "Scottish breakfast," with varied foods on the buffet - and they were willing to cook eggs to order in the kitchen. From the web site, I thought I'd be paying extra for breakfast, but it turned out to be included in my total price. The location was wonderful if you're interested in seeing attractions at the heart of Edinburgh. There are a lot of things within easy walking distance. It was also a quiet neighborhood, which was good, because the windows were far from soundproof - I could easily hear normal street conversations. The room itself was a mixed bag. It was clean, well-organized, but the very very small and narrow size meant that the (comfortable!) king-size bed was only accessible from one side; the other was jammed up against the wall! Even the "accessible" side only had one foot clearance from the wall, and the location of coat hangers meant that you had to hit your head or duck even on your way to the bed. There were good wall lights for reading in bed, but they were not centered because of the window position, so the side of the bed NOT next to the wall got shortchanged. There was no door on the shower, so it was hard to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet. The sink was microscopic.

Clean and comfortable hotel in a central location

Comfortable and clean hotel in a central location in Edinburgh. A bit pricey for a basic room, but there may just be high demand in Edinburgh which inflates the prices. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.

Hôtel calme et tranquille

Etablissement calme et tranquille. La seule contrariété a été une attente assez longue et stressante à 1h00 du matin pour être accueilli, alors qu'on nous avait annoncé une présence permanente. En revanche, le petit déjeuner est un must, dans un lieu très cosy, encadré par un personnel fantastique.

Nice stay

New hotel, great breakfasts which was included, amazing customer service (especially David at the reception). Location is good too.

No elevator, so be prepared to take the stairs. The rooms were well worth it though! Clean, modern and spacious. The heated towels and desk were a nice option

our flight to edinburgh was canceled at the last minute and the hotel did not want to reimburse us for the two paid nights I find this scandalous when it is the fault of easyjet without any valid reason to cancel the flight

Hotel top, Frühstücksbuffet Flop

Modernes Hotel in erfrischendem, jugendlichem Style. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, riesiges Zimmer. Das Doppelbett war sehr gross, bequem mit ebenfalls bequemen Kissen. Das Bad war ebenfalls sehr gross mit genügend Ablageflächen und einem wohlriechenden Duschmittel/Seife. Die Duschbrause war einfach zu bedienen, was im Vereinigten Königreich keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist. Auch hatte das Wasser im 4. Stock oben noch genügend Druck. Auch das leider keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Wir sind geübte UK-Reisende. Es hatte einen Wasserkocher mit Tee, Kaffee und sogar Cookies im Zimmer, was wir sehr schätzten. Das Zimmer war stets sauber geputzt und alles wieder aufgefüllt. Vom Hotelkomfort her, haben wir einzig zu bemängeln, dass es keinen Fahrstuhl hatte. Wir hatten nach 2 Wochen Schottlandreise schwere Koffer, die wir in den 4. Stock hochtragen mussten. Das Personal hätte uns jedoch dabei geholfen. Schade fand ich persönlich auch, dass die Duschtücher täglich gewechselt werden, was ich unökologisch und unnötig finde. Das Frühstücksbuffet war für das gebotene Essen zu teuer. Das Personal war schlecht organisiert und zum Teil unfreundlich. Porridge wurde angepriesen, stand dann aber nicht zur Verfügung am Samstag. Die Zutaten des Schottischen Frühstückes am Freitag, lagen offensichtlich schon länger herum und waren beim Servieren leider sehr trocken. Hingegen waren die Früchte frisch und lecker, weswegen wir darauf zurückgriffen.
