Come to Whalehead Beach today and enjoy some real fun 'Under The Sun!' You will find everything you will need for a great vacation here. Enjoy your own private pool and hot tub, shoot a game of billiards in the rec room or gather the whole crew for a friendly game of volleyball in the backyard. This home is located just a short walk from the beach and is conveniently located close to shopping, grocery stores, children's amusements and the local movie theater.

Ground Level: This level features the rec room offering a pool table, wet bar with full size fridge, a television and stereo. There is a sliding glass door that leads to the pool deck and private hot tub. The pool and hot tub are gated off from the house for extra security with the little ones. The rec room also has a sofa and card table for seating. You will find a full bathroom just off the rec room and an elevator for getting yourself, and all your groceries, to the top level. Rounding out this level is the laundry room and a garage for extra storage.

Mid Level: This floor offers four bedrooms. First, there is a main bedroom with 2 Singles, a loveseat and TV. There is a handicapped friendly King main bedroom with TV/DVD and a slider to access the outside deck. The bathroom has grab bars in the shower, a roll-under vanity and wide entry doors. You will also find an extra-large kid's suite offering a Queen and 2 Bunk Sets with a TV and sofa bed. This room also has deck access through a sliding glass door and shares a full bath with a room with 2 Queens and TV.

Top Level: Here you will find an open floor plan featuring a great room with TV/DVD and stereo. The great room offers comfy seating and a slider to access the top level decks with ocean views. The kitchen and dining areas are found on this level as well. Step up to the loft on the west side of the house for some quiet time, perfect for reading. There is also a King main bedroom with TV/DVD, hardwood floors and a double vanity. Rounding out this level is a half bath located just off the great room.

Amenities: Private unheated Pool, Hot Tub, 7 TV, 3 DVD, 2 Stereos, Pool Table, Card Table, Baby Gate, WiFi, Basketball Goal, Volleyball Court, 2 Full Size Refrigerators, Loft, Elevator, Handicapped Friendly. Beach Access: 360 Yards.

For January and February bookings, please contact the property management company to ensure the hot tub is available.

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.
Private Pool Dates: The private pool is open May 1st through October 15th. The private pool is unavailable outside of these dates.

We enjoyed the pool, large rooms, a wonderful kitchen/family room/dining area, and closeness to Food Lion and other shopping! It was a short walk to the beach too. The elevator allowed us to be there.

Enjoyed vacationing!

We really enjoyed our stay. All the games and the pool table were awesome for family game nights! And during the day the short walk to the beach was very convenient especially with small children. Only 2 hiccups were, the dim lighting in our bathroom and the location of the tv in the bedroom we were using.

Spacious home close to the beach. The house has a great pool and the elevator was a lifesaver. The house needs some upgrades and TLC.

Great Location for the $$--

The house is clean, well-decorated and a very easy trip to the beach. The pool table is fun, the pool is refreshing. The elevator is a great help! As a wheelchair bound guest it is great! (Note-- some directions would be helpful. Note that all doors have to be closed in the floors above below for it to operate including the draw screens.) There is much diversity in amount of disability and type of injury. If you cannot stand at al beware of these issues-- There is no bathroom access on third/main living floor. The doors are too tight for a wheelchair. The 2nd floor handicapped bathroom does not have a roll in shower but I found the lip manageable. Bring a shower bench! The beds are all VERY high-- very high. We had a great time and plan to return! It's great for families.

Under the Sun for a week

The house is very spacious, upon arrival the clean service was late and we had to wait until after 4 to get into the house. The house was clean once we could get it. Some of the kitchen needs could be updated but fully stocked otherwise. A good location a short 2-3 block to the beach. Even though we had a few issues Vacasa tried to remedy them fast. Overall a great vacation!

Love Under the Sun!!

Great times!

House was wonderful. Great location, very easy walk to the beach. Located near any shop you might need. Layout of house is great for multiple families. Pool area and hot tub are a great spot to hang out if you need a break from the beach. House was clean and inviting. We would definitely rent again .

Upon entering the house what struck me was how clean and fresh everything looked. what was most impressive was how well it was stocked with knives that actually cut. huge variety of pots, dishes glasses. The decks had very high quality deck chairs. the owner thought of just about everything that a renter could need including beach chairs. What was most impressive was when i reported that there was a small leak from the dishwasher no urgency repair man showed up next morning. by the way the way the quality of the bath towels and linens was probably the most impressive, not used to this level of quality from other rental agencies serving the island.

Everything You Need Under the Sun

Great Home Walking Distance to Beach

Our extended family of 10 really enjoyed our week at Under the Sun. We were pleasantly surprised to find beach carts and extra beach chairs. It is an easy walk to the beach and the home is big enough for everyone to spread out. The 2nd floor balcony was lovely for reading.

Everything you'd want in a beach house.

Though the weather wasn't great for half the week, we were still able to enjoy our time together playing pool, board games, movies, reading etc. Lots of room to spread out. Easy walk to the beach and the pool was perfect!! Oh yeah, the elevator was a hit as well. :) We also enjoyed the porch swings & hammock. Many thoughtful touches and well equipped garage with yard games and beach accessories. Thanks for giving our family some happy memories.

Excellent home away from home

We have stayed at Under The Sun a number of times. We keep coming back because the house is perfect for our group. It is comfortable, has what we need in the kitchen, great decks and pool area. Love the elevator for getting groceries and heavy stuff to upper floors. We love staying at Under the Sun.

Great stay!

Loved our two weeks at Under the Sun. Lots of spaces for chilling or for larger gatherings. The pool deck has dining, swimming, sunning, and hot-tubbing along with easy access to both an outdoor shower when returning from the beach and a full indoor bathroom conveniently located next to the pool table, downstairs refrigerator and microwave. The second level bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable with access to a wonderfully large shaded deck for the sun-shy. The upper level has a spacious well-provisioned kitchen, large indoor and outdoor dining tables, spacious seating for reading or watching tv, easy access to the top deck with plenty of comfortable seating for reading or sunning. In the garage we found beach chairs, umbrellas, all sorts of volley/basketballs, pool floats, a variety of outdoor games, as well as two beach wagons. Being located one property away from the beach access walkway provided quick and easy access the beach a short two blocks away. The elevator made stocking the kitchen and moving luggage very easy. Very easy access to groceries, restaurants and shopping located nearby. Now for the nit-picky negatives. While overall very clean, when it came time to leave, we were checking under beds and couches for dropped socks or other items and noticed that the floors underneath had not seen a vacuum in quite sometime. Also a little annoying when light fixtures have burned out bulbs and/or different types of bulbs. Having said that we had an exceptional two week stay and can highly recommend Under the Sun.
