We stayed in the in the Barnhouse for a long weekend while visiting Lewisburg, activities at the Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, and the Renaissance Festival. The location was great. Just a short drive to all of our activities, maybe 15min or so, but the drive up the mountain is quite steep with many switchbacks making travel in the winter hard i would think. We went in the summer without difficulty however. The house has 4 large bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. The bathroom doors are sliding barn doors, even on the main floor which do not give a lot of privacy if you’re not with family, but for us and our children, we didn’t have issues. There were ample towels and toilet paper in the house, and we supplied with a small amount of shampoo. The kitchen is well appointed with a Keurig and tons of coffee/tea/hot chocolate with condiments. The back porch has a gorgeous view of the mountains and was particularly enjoyable in the morning with sunrise, although there is a bit of road noise from the highway, it’s not disruptive at all. There were several board games and movies in the house, with a hot tub outside. The community is large with very few houses built so far, so the community lodge would be all to yourself. We didn’t not have the opportunity to visit it however with all of our activities. Overall, good location with well appointed house and gorgeous views close to lewisburg and white sulfur springs. Would stay again.
