We stayed in the room on the top floor which has the only tub in the hotel. It also has a ladder leading to the roof where there is your own private balcony. It is not for the arthritic, though, with lots of stairs and you carry own luggage, no elevator but that is not a complaint - it is to be expected from a centuries old building.
Be sure to breakfast at the Ugly Mug nearby.
We found the kitchen to have remarkable coffees, cereals, jars of goodies in the fridge, juices and filtered water for refills so no wasted plastic.
We dined at Rockafellas just across the street and the leftovers can be stored in a fridge for microwave later.
The staff is gone after 5 pm but being on your own in the common room is just fine.
There is something about walking in a building where President George Washington walked. Be sure to sit beside the fireplace nearest the kitchen, it is original and he may have warmed himself beside it with Martha by his side.
