Property is very old and it appears that few, if any, upgrades have been done. Room had a sour smell. A/C unit kept kicking off. One wall had no power to the outlets and lamp. Extremely overpriced for that quality of room.

On January 25, 2024, we checked into the Best Western SureStay in Sarasota-Lido Beach after making a reservation through Expedia. I chose this hotel because it was affiliated with Best Western. I was in the hotel industry for 45 years and managed several Best Western Hotels. I was always impressed with Best Western’s quality and rigid standards. This was one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever seen. Best Western should be ashamed to allow its name on this dump. Expedia should be ashamed to accept reservations for it. After moving our bags into the room and unpacking, we realized that the room was filthy and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We left the door open to let in some fresh air, but after a while we noticed some rather unsavory-looking characters in front of our door. We were forced to close the door. After about an hour, I was having difficulty breathing and decided that we could not stay in this room. It was so bad that I decided to take photographs. We packed our bags and left. I went to the desk to inform the staff that, because of the smelly, dirty room, we would not be staying. The owner/manager came out and refused to refund our room charge. I told him we would take it up with Expedia. We left and checked into a Hilton across the street. Here are the problems I encountered with this room: The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. There were burn holes in the bedspread. The sheets were old, worn and damaged. The deadbolt lock did not work and the door

Very Over-rated.
This property is rated much higher than it deserves. It is located on a very busy, noisy, road where the noise goes right through the walls. The noise from the upstairs renter was hip-hop music that went late into the night. The internet, amazingly, didn't work after repeated visits to the office to complain. It never did work. Neither did the telephone to the office. It was completely dead. The tub needed a good cleaning, and a stopper, as did the sink. I would never stay at this property again, even though the owner at check-in asked us to give him a "five star" review if we were happy with our stay.

Stayed a night with our kids. Came to FL to visit family. Room was incredibly clean and spacious. Mattresses were great! Staff was accommodating. The pool area is adorable. Wish we had more time to enjoy. Yes, it's by the airport and near to downtown. We saved over $100 by booking our stay here. Great room for the value. We were very comfortable and slept great!!! Would highly recommend.

Booked a room suite with sofa bed for the family. When I arrived, the frontdesk staff had gave us a free upgrade with twin rooms which was an extra bonus. Hotel was clean, neat and extremely comfortable. Nice and immaculate pool for a relaxing end to the day. Excellent wi-fi network. Mattress is cozy and comfortable. Few steps away from the airport, free parking and a five minute drive to the beautiful lido key beach. A great location if visiting the amazing twin of Sarasota and Bradenton.

We stayed for just one night because we wanted another beach day but the conditions are not the best. Room was kinda dirty with a dead lizard and roach, bathroom corner were dirty as well, the smell wasn’t like a fresh clean, room is dark. As soon my kids woke up we did the check out early morning.
