Booked and paid (premium price) for two nights at this property, but checked out after the first night as we could not endure another night there.
The hotel is a dog friendly property, so our room was on the second floor, as we told this floor was not used for pets, so we thought was OK.
We then discovered there is no elevator we had to heave our luggage up two flights of stairs to our room.
What we also didn't know was that our room faced a railway line that was used by coal trains, that came every hour on the hour from 11.30pm, sounding their horns and clunking along for 5 - 10mins at a time.
As a consequence we had very little sleep, which was annoying as we had driven for more than 6 hours the day before and we were looking forward to a goods night sleep.
This constant disturbance was added to by the guests with barking dogs, taking them out to the grassy area between the hotel and railway track throughout the night to let them do their business.
The breakfast/dining area was basic, with plastic trestle tables to eat at.
When checking out the staff member cheerfully told me they often have quests who request to stay in our room so they can hear the trains coming through at night and that we could have been moved through the night if we were not happy.
We would have liked to have been given the option when checking in.
Avoid this hotel, as you will be disappointed.
