We got a lake front room which was a real treat for us. Staff are really lovely and helpful. Sauna and hottub were appreciated after long hikes. No coffee machine in the room but their restaurant provides all day service with barista coffee and other drinks. Rooms a bit noisy as not sound proof so expect to hear your neighbours if they talk loudly.

We travelled NZ for 10 days and this was the only hotel where we did not enjoy our stay. The purpose of our visit to Wanaka was to hike Roy's Peak. The staff were not able to assist us with any information or obtaining water for our hike. They were located away from town and the day we checked in they closed their restaurant at 2pm due to staff shortage and nothing was available to eat or drink for the rest of the day. Also we had to haul our luggage ourselves across the large parking lot to a second floor room that did not have air conditioning.

Kia Ora, it's disheartening to learn that our usual standard of service fell short during your visit. I was surprised to read that our staff were not helpful to you as this is not usually the case. Alternatively, we do have a concierge who is on in the AM & PM who would have been more than happy to provide you with every detail as he is our expert. Regarding offering take away water, we only have sparkling water in glass bottles for sale, but we are happy to refill reusable bottles for guests if they can supply one so apologies if that was unclear. We offer porter services to assist with luggage, and it's regrettable that this option was not extended to you during your stay. We value your feedback and strive to continually improve our services to ensure every guest has a good experience.

Located just out of town - whilst there was a path to walk along the lake, it was a little far for the little legs so we opted to drive. Our room would have been generous for 2 people and probably very comfortable. With 4 people, the pull out sofa and roll away beds meant it felt very cramped. Fully self-contained was great with a fantastic laundry and functional little kitchen.

Wonderful location, just steps from the water and a pleasant walk to town. The front desk staff were so kind. Just wish they had some air conditioning or better fans for the second floor units on hot summer days.

Nice location right on the lake, making it easy to walk into town. During the summer months the upstairs rooms are quite hot as there is no Air con the fans in the rooms need to be more robust in order to cool the rooms down.

Will definitely stay here again the next time I come. Love the close-ness of the hotel to the Lake. Friendly and accommodating staff who helped to make arrangements for last min extension of my stay. There was some renovations going on in Block 3.

Stayed in a lake view apartment. Lovely. Rented bikes and walked the track around the lake several times into town. Nice quiet location. Ate at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Unremarkable food. A bit disappointing—food was better in town—but location is great.

Lake view amazing property
The property was next level and lake view is a must. The only downside is the internet which was a major challenge in properly but the duty manage Hary Singh went out of his way to help and changed our room and made sure that our issue was resolved. Internet was still not to 100% but really apply the effort they made.

Lovely location and room clean and quiet. Late check in time at 3pm compared to most hotels. Comfortable bed but difficult to access sockets for phone charging and the cord on the kettle is too short to use at its designated place, we had to plug it in next to the TV instead which could be a bit iffy

Dear BiaoRelating to our check-in policy, check-in is not until 3pm, however we will always do our very best to check you in as early as possible if you happen to arrive early. I have spoken with the reception team who can confirm they did contact housekeeping to put a priority on getting your room ready.I have investigated into what happened on the day of the 12th and can confirm that the entire resort had a full water shutdown due to fire hydrant maintenance on that afternoon which lasted for 90 minutes. Due to the water supply being shut off, the lavatories were out of use over this time. I have discussed with reception who can confirm that they did explain this at the time, however I understand that the communication could have possibly been clearer. I on behalf of Edgewater apologize for the inconvenience this must have caused and hope to put a better strategy in place in the case we have this happen in the future. We appreciated your feedback and hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Wanaka. The Edgewater Team

Check in was late. Took until 5pm each day to get the room made up and the WiFi in our room was almost non existent. Was told there weren’t other complaints and should be fine but never really cared. It’s a shame because it is such a nice property. The restaurant was great. Nice beer on tap. And Wanaka itself is a fantastic part of the world!
