The Oyster Box is unique and exceptional in every way. It's like stepping back in time but with first rate modern service and attention to detail. The staff are all really lovely, nothing is too much trouble and its the best hotel I have stayed in.

Yet another fabulous stay at the Oyster Box, such a wonderful place to stay and relax with ultra friendly and efficient staff. We especially look forward to the buffet breakfast, a great way to start the day, sat on the terrace looking out in to the Indian Ocean and spotting the passing whales and dolphins, such a treat. A special mention and thanks must go to Wesley and Clive along with their teams for looking after us as usual, can’t wait for next year.

The Oyster Box is one of my favourite hotels. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance warm and welcoming. The staff are attentive, helpful and pleasant giving excellent service. As usual the meals we had in the restaurants were delicious. All round another wonderful stay.

It was a short stay both times, so we were unable to use the amenities, however we still had an absolutely amazing stay. Staff and service were exceptional, they were very friendly and always ready to assist, and go over and above. The rooms are beautiful, very comfortable and cater to all needs and they made a special surprise for us when we got to the room for our anniversary celebration. We had a sea-facing room which was absolutely stunning to wake up to the sound of the waves and go to sleep to the same. Food was delicious, and the oyster and sparkling wine breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and catered to every taste. Definitely worth staying there. We would love to go back!

Paying attention to detail, customer service at i!
This truly was a 5 star experience!! My daughter literally didn’t want to leave, she called it home away from home. That’s how well they treated us. The service is amazing everyone takes you seriously as a guest. They seem to get it right all the time it wasn’t our first stay but they still managed to dazzle us with their hospitality. From the checking in, to the room, the food etc .

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Oyster Box. It felt “old world” yet modern. The outdoor patio, main dining room and rooftop bar were really enjoyable. The staff is extremely welcoming. Food is quite good and it’s at a beautiful location, overlooking the ocean. The staff were wonderful.

The Oyster box is a fabulous place to stay, very luxurious with outstanding staff. This was our third stay here and are looking forward to our next visit. The buffet breakfast on the terrace is superb and sets you up for the whole day, Oysters, curry and champagne, what’s not to like!!! A long leisurely breakfast has to followed by a walk along the vey clean and safe promenade, what a fabulous stay.

Before our arrival we received a questionnaire from the hotel asking us what our preferences were in several areas. We were met at the airport by a friendly chauffeur who drove us to the hotel and offered us bottles of water of our choosing. On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by a welcoming party. Of particular note was the adherence to Covid-19 precautions with every item touched being wiped clean. As we were returning to the hotel after 53 years, having spent our honeymoon at the hotel in 1969, we were granted an upgrade to a beautiful sea and lighthouse facing room. Soon after our settling into our room we were presented with a bottle of champagne and of water as well as plates of cakes . We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, ate at the bar restaurant on 2 occasions and enjoyed the wonderful and varied breakfasts. All in all we rate the Oyster Box as one of the very best hotels we have every stayed at. Very highly recommended.

We stayed for one night as a romantic getaway. The room was small with a sea view and little verandah but nothing special for the 350usd a night price tag. The breakfast was under par for a 5 star hotel, and the service was also not great. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is great, but at this price tag not to be recommended.

Overrated
I have stayed a lot of times in the Beverly Hills hotel across the road and it was always a dream to stay in the Oyster Box. After n tiresome trip with Covid 19 regulations we arrived at the hotel hungry and I wanted a salad. We could only order from current menu being send from one restaurant to another (16:00 in afternoon). Well I had to settle for a scone and tea. As a gold member on hotels.com no one offered us any of the extras that was promised. No free bottle of wine, we could not have a late check out and also no R95 credit on food as promised. The only good thing was we had to check out at 11 and we had high tea from 12 to 4 as our flight was at 18:00.
