Staff at the hotel were very friendly, easy check-in system. Heater was put on for when we arrived in room as it was a cold winters day which was very thoughtful. Requested extra towels as there were not enough for all guests and staff arranged this immediately. Information given about adjourning pub/restaurant which was also good value and very convenient. There was an issue with the fire alarm due to people opening the fire exit door around midnight but was soon resolved. Would deff book again. Thanks. 😁

Mark and Kirsty made us all feel really welcome. We ate at the Hotel Bar which was also great. We would stay here again.

Stayed here with my partner originally for 2 nights ended up being an extra 2 nights due to the amazing rooms and service , came down for the darts tournaments for my partner they were excellent looking after us and best hotel in the area one of the best !!

Good
Bathroom was dated- had rust around the plug and bottom of the bath but was clean. Shower was awful in that there was no pressure. Everything else was brilliant, considering the cost. Comfy beds, clean, pub was lovely. Quiet considering above a pub. Good parking- good is Greene king so cheap and cheerful. Checking was quick- guy was helpful and lovely. Wi-fi didn’t stretch to the family room in second floor furthest from pub which disappointed the kids.

Tired bathroom
Stayed for 2 nights as a family of 4. The room was very spacious with 2 full sized extra beds. The carpets, towels and bedding are all clean and fresh but the bathroom was very tired with a lot of mould. Could definitely do with a complete new bathroom. The hotel was very quiet at night so that was great

Good value stay
Good value stay. Good value food and a lively bar which showed the Champions League match. Room condition ok, but a bit tired in places.

Not the best, sorry
To be clear, I would and probably will stay again... its a few hundred yards from where my family live. The staff were friendly and very helpful apart from the Sunday evening when we went to get a drink and something to eat. At 8pm we walked into staff training and was told to leave as they were shut. There was no notice that we saw telling us this and no staff member let us know when we checked in. Luckly i am fit and able enough that I could walk 0.7 miles to a take away and shop while my not so fit and able wife waited in the room. The hotel side of things to be fair is tired and in need of updating. In the corridors, wall paper is liftin up and the carpets smell musty. The bedroom was pretty standard for a hotel room, plenty of plug sockets and furniture but the double bed was rock hard, one of the twin beds was also rock hard and the other was super soft. The bath/shower room is definitely in need of updating. At the end of the day, the price is low and you get what you pay for

Only stayed overnight while in the area for a party. Wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer. The whole hotel needs updating, it’s very tired and dated. Only £63 per night per room. So cheap and cheerful! Included breakfast which was a bonus.

Recommend
It was a great location room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and the waiter was lovely. The only thing I will say is there was knowone on reception on arrival and had to wait quite a while in fact when I was coming and going there was never anyone on reception and I didn’t really want to go on the hunt for people if needed. But all in all a good stay and I would definitely go again. Good value for money

Not a pleasant stay
Overall room needs updating. The worst think about the stay was the fact that the room was so cold and humid. The walls facing outside were wet and after two nights there I felt so unwell. Despite us saying we were quite cold we weren’t offered extra heating appliances or covers. I’m sorry but I cannot recommend this place especially if you have children.

Not great, but got the job done
We got there about 5pm, had to go the the bar to ask someone to check us in. Took another 10 minutes for a member of staff to come to reception. Room was generally fine. Tea spoons were dirty, clearly not changed from the previous guest as they still has coffee grains stuck to them. The room was pretty cold. We put the heater on and had to stuff the curtains behind the heater otherwise the heat would get stuck behind the curtains. Double bed was comfy, a little firm but not too much. The single beds were way too soft. They just caved in, so much so when my 5 year old was sleeping near the edge of the bed, he slipped right off. Security doesn't seem to concern the staff. Multiple times when going out to vape, the reception computer was left on, unlocked with peoples personal information on view. We ate in the bar area on the 2nd night. We wanted to sit in one of the stall spaces which were all dirty. After asking a member of staff if they could clear it, he said that we could sit somewhere else. After asking again the table was cleared. Ordering on the app was fine. The food arrived quite quickly. The chicked breasts were the smallest ones i have ever seen. Only one slice of bacon too which felt stingy given the description and price. For desert, i ordered at the bar as i wanted to ask for custard instead of Icecream. Only 1 bar member serving with 7 people ahead of me meant the wait was long. Nobody cleared the dinner plates before brining out the desert.

Gorgeous day so with plenty of outside tables pub was hammered. Tables piled high with empty glasses and plates. Staff tried their best but needed a lot more. Room adequate and free parking a bonus. Would stay again.

Great Saturday evening stay
We stayed over with my wife because we were meeting my brother for Christmas lunch. After reading various reviews we were a bit apprehensive, but we have to say we had a great stay! The room was large, comfortable, clean. The bathroom also. The bonus was the pub in the building so we didn’t have to find another place for dinner. They were very busy -it was a boxing match evening, but we got served with no issues and the food was lovely!! The breakfast was a bit muddled up, but they were short staffed and the cook was temporary, so ot was understandable. We will be back!
