We were a group of 4 adults, myself and my wife, my daughter and one of my sisters. This place has an outstanding location on the beach. I would say there are few houses right on the beach as this one was. I will list some of the notable pluses and minuses:
The view from the house onto the water is breathtaking. As beautiful as the beach is, it is difficult to walk on, between the loose sand and the steep angle. The current is very strong in front of the house, we did not go past waist deep. The waves are very strong (maybe because it was winter?)
The house is on a relatively thin piece of land between the road and the beach. You have to plan your drive into the house, you need to be heading south (toward Haleiwa) as the driveway before the gate is very small, and your vehicle will stick out on the road if you turn left into driveway. Lots of traffic on the road, especially about 3pm.
The dishwasher was broken for our entire week. I guess I should have figured that out as soon as I saw the dish drainer on the counter.
The noise from the ocean waves is very loud. It took a little bit to get used to that. With no AC, all the windows have to be open. All 3 bedrooms a have a great view of the ocean.
Lighting - I understand that being right on the ocean wreaks havoc on electrical connections, switches and light fixtures. Several of the lighting fixtures did not work, as well as some of the lighting in the refrig. Owner needs to check all lighting
