Our official check-out time is 12pm and check-in at 2pm On the day or your arrival we were running at exceptionally high occupancy level, which is why unfortunately a couple of rooms were not quite ready by two o'clock. While I am happy to hear that you generally enjoyed your stay with us, I am very sorry about issues you encountered with the shower. I wish we had known about this during your stay, as the water pressure can be increased by pressing the little button on the tap while turning it to the left. Dear Mamiko, Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review and I am very sorry for not fully meeting your expectations during your recent stay with us. Please note that we installed completely new bathrooms in all of our rooms during the recent restoration and refurbishment and even though not clearly visible, all bathtubs do have an overflow. In case that there might have been an issue with the overflow, our maintenance department would have been more than happy to investigate. The Phoenicia was built in Art Deco style more than 75 years ago and is the island’s most historic hotel. While this provides the hotel with its unique old-world charm, it unfortunately also comes with certain limitations not present in new buildings, one of them being varying room sizes. We have about 10 different room layouts in each category, whereas the actual size never varies by more than a couple of square metres.Instead of size, our room categories mainly differ by either having a balcony or not or whether they have harbour views or a view of Floriana or the Bastion walls.However, rest assured that I will put a note in your profile and should you ever stay at The Phoenicia again sometime in the future, we will try to allocate a room with a different layout, which might suit you better.Thank you again for your kind attention and comments.
