So, let's start off with the good! A beautiful, chic hotel in a great neighborhood!
But, and here are a few of the issues that are evident to us! When a guest asks the Concierge a question, they should not be dismissed! Our multiple interactions with staff incl.: The loud, broken sounding elevator, Where is a "good" breakfast restaurant?, Can we move our room to avoid the "elevator noise", Where can I catch the train/bus to Navy Pier?, Can we go up to the rooftop patio bar?, Can I get a reservation at the restaurant on the patio?, Where is a good place to eat after our long and frustrating travel day?.
Almost all of these interactions were with the Concierge behind the front desk. Almost all of these interactions were answered with this phrase: "You can just Google it!" or "Did you use Google Maps", or worst of all, "No, there is an event going on", or "Sorry, it's closed!".
When a patron spends upwards of $300/night at a "fine" Chicago hotel, should we expect better service and caring answers from the staff? Yes! Yes we should!
The staff member that deserves praise is the maid for the 16th floor. She was polite and efficient! Bravo Miss!
As to the multiple staff behind the front desk: Makayla and Lauren, please listen to your customers questions and address their concerns. We are not all from Chicago and look to you for assistance. And to Hugo, our concierge on Saturday evening, Thank You!
