Great stay at the Candia hotel, close enough to qalk to the city centre ~40 minutes. The rooftop patio and pool are gorgeous with amazing views of the city. Room had been recently updated with a large shower. Laundry is expensive, however they provide additional information on laundromats nearby as needed.

The perfect spot!
A wonderful hotel 3 minutes from two different subway stations. They were in the middle of renovation whe we stayed (January) but the restaurant, bar, and pool were all top notch. The staff were amazing and very well informed about the sights around Athens. I feel like we got our own customised tour guide! Our rooms had a view of the Acropolis, and the rooftop patio had an even better one! Definitely a gem and a bargin!

Overall not good
Hotel is going through some renovation and for 3 out of 4 days there have been horrible construction noises that didn’t allow us to rest and enjoy our time. Windows are not soundproof and hotel is located near by busy road, so sleeping was possible only with earplugs.

This building is not sound proof and one can hear noises from outside, near by balconies upper floors etc. It also has a very strong embedded smoke smell in the rooms. It’s awful!

Hotel hat seine besten Jahre hinter sich. Möbel und Einrichtung sind verschlissen. Es versprüht den Charme der 70er Jahre. Das Personal ist freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist super. Es wird täglich geputzt und aufgeräumt. Die Gegend ist nicht die beste. Man sollte in Athen grundsätzlich nicht die Touristenpfade verlassen. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung für den Preis.

Praktisk tæt på metro og tog. Hyggelig tagterrasse med lille pool. Udmærket morgenmadsbuffet og venlig personale. Værelse med alten. Lidt slidte værelser, men pænt og rent. Alt fungerer.

Der var ikke ligefrem tale en 4-stjernet oplevelse men personalet var super venlige, smilende og imødekommende. Specielt receptionisten George og den yngre sikkerhedsvagt mødte os altid med smil og venlighed. George var meget behjælpelig med seværdigheder samt gode spisesteder. Morgenmaden, ja, det var en oplevelse for sig selv. Croissanterne var friske og sansynligvis fra dagen før. De blødkogte æg var overkogt og kaffemaskinen kunne ikke brygge kaffe.. det blev morgenmad på en nærliggende cafe i stedet ALLE dage.

Restaurant de l’hôtel, excellent 🙌 service parfois excellent et d’autres un peu moins. Ma complainte, c’est vraiment le voisinage et le manque évident d’insonorisation… Il y a de l'espace entre les fenêtres et l’extérieur 🙃 La nuit je n’ai pas pu dormir … oui le bruit incessant de la ville, mais encore j’avais tout de même dormi la nuit d’avant…. Mais plutôt les alarmes aux 15 minutes à partir de 3h du matin jusqu’à 5h30 … auto et station service d’à côté (1 rue plus loin) qui ne cesse de recommencer à sonner. Oui le métro est à 2 coins de rues mais s’y rendre à 5h du matin avec les alarmes et les vagabonds sur les bancs de parcs c’est limite. Nous n’avons jamais été attaqué ou intimidés, simplement un peu peur 😧 pour prendre le métro à 5h30 ou le rail à 6h pour se rendre à l’aéroport

Good hotel in general in the middle of Athens, very close to the metro and most of the staff are very good and helpful. The rooftop pool is amazing although it is a small one and the cafe/bar has an amazing view of the acropolis. The area is not very safe, just stay near the main road and you will be fine.

The hotel had a nice view of the Acropolis from its roof top. The pool was essentially a large bath tub but the water was clean. Proximity to transit and coffee shops and restaurants is a big plus. The room we had faced the road and was extremely noisy. traffic noise disturbed us constantly. The staff was co-operative. No English channels on T.V. But generally a good enough experience.

The roof top terrace/bar is ideal for a relaxing evening with a wonderful view of the Acropolis. They serve nice food. The roof top pool is perfect for a dip in the Athens heat.

Séjour Hotel Candia
Nous rentrons d'un séjour à l'Hôtel Candia en août 2023. Il n'est pas trop mal situé car près d'une station de métro. La Chambre était grande par contre, niveau insonorisation : catastrophe.. Nous étions au 6e étage, la piscine étant au 7e, nous avions tous les bruits de la "tuyauterie" y compris la nuit. La 1ère d'ailleurs, nous avons très mal dormi. Hormis celà, le buffet du petit-déjeuner est varié et le personnel très professionnel.

Candida hotel was excellent. My 3 kids loved pool on the rooftop. You can get beautiful views of the Parthenon especially at night. The food was adequate and the rooms were sufficient! Would definitely stay again!

Great option
We loved the rooftop restaurant/bar in swimming pool. It was so refreshing after a day of sightseeing in Athens in the heat. Also nice that you could get dinner at the snack bar or the restaurant. Really nice Buffet breakfast and a good location for the price.

Hotelpersonal freundlich, Zimmer zweckmäßig, Einrichtung und Badezimmer in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise defekt. Das Hotel punktet durch die Dachterrasse mit der Aussicht und den Außenpool. Frühstücksbuffet reichhaltig. Nichts für Reisende mit Autos, da uns mitgeteilt wurde, dass es sich dort um eine kriminelle Gegend handelt und wir lieber unser Auto in ein private parking abstellen sollten...

Liked: This hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance from two metro stations. Disliked: This hotel is situated near the metro track and I was able to hear the squeaking noise coming the train wheels in the early mornings and late nights.
