What you can expect

You have arrived in Ketchikan Alaska, and we are here to take you and your fellow explorers on a hike into the rainforest. Spend some time with a local guide and small group heading into the Tongass National Forrest, the world’s largest temperate rainforest. As we make our way from your pickup location to the trail we travel along the Tongass Narrows and narrate the tails of the land. Our groups are no larger than 11 so that we can keep our tour as personable as possible.
Spend some time walking in the woods. Along the trail you can breathe easily next to some Old Man's Beard, which only grows in the purest oxygen setting. With your nature guide, you will discuss the abundant beauty and what it takes to maintain such a fabulous resource. We are truly fortunate to be able to spend time in such a lovely place.
During salmon season, we will have an opportunity to see salmon spawning in their natural habitat while the river passes by them down to the ocean. Our salmon and abundant rain is what provides many of the resources to keep our forest vibrant.

After our nature walk, we invite you to share a hardy cookie and a bottle of water where we still start to prepare ourselves for the next leg of trip.

You and your guide will travel to one of our local totem pole parks to spend tome time exploring the rich history of our indigenous people. As we venture through some Sitka Spruce, Cedar, and Hemlock trees the trail will open, and we will be emersed in totem poles. We will make our way into the clan house where you can see some truly amazing hand-crafted art by a local artist. Your guide will share stories about some of the totems that you see as well as provide some insight into how the natives of the area lived.

After we complete our walk with the totem poles, we will journey back to Ketchikan with one last round of narration from your guide. We will drop you right back where you started and bid farewell.

Wild Wolf Tours was founded by a local woman who is a member of the Wolf Clan who was married to a man with the last name Wolf. If you’re looking to explore some of Ketchikan with a tour company started by a local, owned and operated by a local and with a local tour guide then we might be the right place for you.
