Soak up the sunny sights of downtown San Diego and the breathtaking coastal beauty of La Jolla on this full-day tour. After a morning spent bopping around the city, break for lunch in the historic Gaslamp Quarter before heading to La Jolla to admire its beaches, coves, and nature reserves.
Meet your guide downtown and hop into a comfortable, air-conditioned van to begin your tour of San Diego’s palm-shaded, sun-drenched streets. Cross the bridge to Coronado, a lovely resort town known for its glittering beaches, sidewalk cafes, and vacation-friendly vibe. Stop at the grand Hotel del Coronado—a National Historic Landmark that dates back to 1888—and then stretch your legs with a walk by the Navy dockyards, piers, and waterfront parks of the Embarcadero.
Make your way to the 1,200-acre (485-ha) Balboa Park to take in its reflecting pool, peaceful gardens, and the Mission-style and Spanish Colonial architecture of its museums and cultural centers. Your guide also leads you by what may well be Balboa Park’s most famous attraction—the world-class San Diego Zoo.
Enjoy a free hour for lunch in the Gaslamp Quarter, a vibrant historic district packed with Victorian buildings and the round-the-clock bustle of visitors and locals alike. After lunch, jump back in the van and drive out to La Jolla. This exclusive seaside neighborhood and it’s equally elite golf course sit on rocky cliffs and rolling hills overlooking secluded beaches and stunning Pacific Coast scenery.
Please note that the tour does require a 4 guest minimum in order to go.
